Uniquely Savvy

Uniquely Savvy For burned-out professionals, purpose-driven leaders & those who’ve been bullied: heal, reclaim your voice & lead w/resilience. Self-Leadership First: Heal.

Led by multi-trauma survivor Kim Peterson, we guide WHOLE YOU transformation. Stop surviving, start living & leading w/purpose. Rise. Lead. As a Leadership Brand & Trauma-Informed WHOLE YOU Life Coach, I cultivate a safe space to equip and empower burned-out and bullied professionals, purpose-driven leaders, and the rising generation of girls and women becoming who they are meant to be—with mindse

t shifts and tools to heal from invisible wounds, reclaim confidence, and lead with clarity, courage, and resilience.

🔥 According to Deloitte, 77% of workers have experienced burnout, including 70% of C-suite leaders—impacting how they show up at work, at home, and in their communities (2023). Many silently battle stress, invisible trauma, bullying, imposter syndrome, and toxic cultures. Since 2000, I’ve helped senior leaders & high achievers—including Amazon, Microsoft, Boeing & T-Mobile—elevate image, style & brand as a coach, author, speaker & corporate trainer. But over the years, I’ve witnessed an obvious shift in our country's climate. Amassing followers and likes, wearing curated outfits, or numbing with distractions—from substances to scrolling—aren’t curing burnout. They’re masking it. Despite the highlight reels, America is facing a growing mental and spiritual health crisis. Rates of anxiety, depression, addiction, and suicide are climbing—especially among youth and high achievers. We are more connected than ever, yet lonelier, more exhausted, and more fragmented in our identities and values. The truth? Burnout isn’t healed by image management. Wholeness doesn’t come through performance. Freedom isn’t found in filters. Healing begins with truth, courage, and connection—from the inside out. A dedicated life learner, I expanded my ability to meet the moment. As a multi-trauma overcomer, I earned life coach/certifications in emotional intelligence, neuroscience, psychological safety, and the science of happiness—to more powerfully equip and empower the WHOLE YOU—mind, body, spirit & soul. Using a human-centered WHOLE YOU self-leadership framework, I guide clients as they move from fear to freedom:

✅ Heal fragmentation from trauma & burnout
✅ Build emotional intelligence & resilience
✅ Align values, vision & purpose
✅ Reclaim voice, confidence & influence
✅ Elevate executive presence, style & brand
✅ Get seen, heard & promoted for who they truly are

Whether you’re being overlooked, hiding your brilliance, silently struggling, or navigating broken trust—your healing, presence, and leadership matter. As a mulit-trauma overcomer, I know the cost of fragmentation. But I also know the healing power of wholeness in leadership. Through it all, I’ve done the deep inner and spiritual work. Anchored in faith and guided by purpose, I carry embodied wisdom that uniquely qualifies me to facilitate this sacred work—now. This is whole-person transformation—empowering, redemptive & liberating. Ready to heal and rise in a safe environment where you can lay your burdens down and work through the obstacles? Expect to be seen, heard, and valued. You belong. Burnout isn’t the end—it’s your turning point!

“I Give Love Away” — a 2005 vision board affirmation written on a heart cutout.

I wrote the following on December 11, 2023, as Kelly and I were (secretly) packing to permanently move to AZ. My heart was heavy.

Doc had died unexpectedly four months earlier. Less than two months later, my teenage niece, Stella, died by su***de. Terrified of the unknown, we were already slated to adopt Einstein just six days after losing Stella.

I needed H.O.P.E.

Then I found this heart while packing.

“I Give Love Away.”

No matter what season you find yourself in today, may you perceive that you are deeply loved— and may you know that there is always hope. Grab hold of it and take the next step…

Heal. Rise. Lead Change.

Found this 2005 affirmation last night.

Love trumped fear, and Einstein got a new lease on life…

LOVE.

It can give you a new lease on life, too.

💕

If you know my story at all you know I have experienced my fair share of abandonment, adversity, and trauma.

I used to be in such an extended state of survival mode that I was extremely self-protective, hypervigilant, and anxious.

Fearful of gettting hurt again, I built a tall, impenetrable brick fortress around myself.

I did not allow myself the freedom to love or be loved…or really let people in—until I chose to do my inner healing work. Then, the chains began to break off.

YES, this was such a scary, courageous, and foreign path to be on—to deconsruct the fortress and “give love away”—that I put this affirmation on my 2005 vision board.

I needed to “see” what was possible and who I wanted to become.

What I experienced?

The healing was so unbelievable and incredible that I had to tell people what was possible for them too, and in
2010 I wrote “Fear to Freedom” as a feature in the book “Incredible Life: Top Experts Reveal How to Create Yours.

🦋Freedom to be your authentic self

🦋Freedom to forgive

🦋Freedom to love and be loved

Fast Forward to 2023:

Reading the “Luke Challenge” for the month of December, which tells the story of Jesus’ life, triggered something in my early morning sleep and it all came together when I woke up to journal.

I became available to love others, not because they first loved me, but because God first loved me.

He first loved me, had a plan for my future—one of hope and not harm—but, was I going to choose to believe Him, one who I could not even see?

I began to believe in God’s love for me and over the years it transformed me.

💕

That leg of the journey prepared me for Doc, who “I did not want”. I did not want a dog, but within seconds of meeting me, Doc chose me to be his person.

He first loved me, and did not give up.

Within a few short days, I was in love with him and loved him back…

🐾❤️🐾The Doctor of Love & Kindness came to us in 2018 and helped me to “see” others (some who had also built their own fortresses) and his paws took us to share love, kindness, and community.

It was like Doc was on a divine assignment.

The lessons that Doc taught me prepared me for saying, “YES”, to Einstein when fear was initially the driving force behind my “NO”.

Again, I didn't even want another dog.

Doc literally prepared… the way…to give love and food and shelter to a being that was so neglected and knew no kind of human love.

…I adored Doc, our beloved pup!
And if he was still physically among us, I know I would not have made room for Einy.

My heart and my thoughts would not even be thinking about the needs of an abandoned and self-protective shelter dog who was living a life of survival—likely first in a cage at a puppy mill—and then as an orphan abandoned in the woods.

(Did you know? Einstein was rescued and brought into the humane society the very morning after Doc passed away. I didn't learn this nugget until the day we adopted him almost two months later.)

I believe God and Doc were working in kahoots to ensure the story of love continued.

Watching Einstein grow into who he is supposed to be—in such short order—through love, trust, safety, and belonging blows me away!

💕

We each have a backstory that can be healed and redeemed for good, if we allow.

It can be scary.

It can be intimidating with the unknown.

Shoot. Let's keep it real. Often it can be painful.

It will definitely take trust and some patience.

But it will be worth it—this I can promise you.

This 2005 affirmation reminded me where I have come from, and why I chose the line of work I’m in.

Why I love all the vocational work I get to do from styling and speaking to coaching folks from fear to freedom to brand identity development to community. It’s why I loved volunteering as as a dog therapy team in Washington and Arizona.

Love sees.
Love heals.
Love redeems.
Love transforms.
Love leads to purpose.

It's no coincidence I came across this heart last night.

May you know how deeply loved you are even if you don't “feel” it.

Feelings do not change the facts, btw.

Fact is, God is always at work around you…

Champion a beautiful Monday,
Xo

An Infusion of H.O.P.E., Words to Sustain the Weary:

Hope doesn’t mean pretending everything is okay.

Sometimes, hope is simply choosing to believe that something different is possible.

Healing.
Overcoming.
Possibilities.
Expectancy.

H.O.P.E.

May you find hope in your story.

Keep looking for it.
Keep seeking it.
Keep insisting on it.

You never know what might be waiting just beyond what you can see.

Yahoooo!!! It’s POURING rain and 73 degrees in my neck of the woods! 🌧️

The last time I was caught in the rain, it was July and I was downtown Seattle shopping with a client.

I’d only packed one suitcase for the week and had limited options. Since I hadn’t planned for a rainy day, I simply worked with what I had.

Denim. Layers. Sneakers. A newly acquired umbrella. 😉

It worked.

And honestly?

That’s part of the beauty of personal style.
You don’t need a closet full of clothes. You need to know what works for you—and how to make it work.

Happy Motivation Monday!

Cry.
Forgive.
Learn.
Move on.
Let the tears water the seeds
of your future happiness.
—Steve Maraboli

This 2023 Santorini memory popped up recently.

Believe me.

Before moving from fear to freedom through forgiveness, I would not have felt comfortable posing so freely—or ever given myself permission to share a photo like this.

It’s not about sensual beauty.

It’s about pure freedom.

The chains that once held me captive are gone.

This is what happens when we stop allowing our past to dictate our present.

When we heal.

When we forgive.

When we reclaim ourselves.

Freedom looks good on you. ❤️

Happy Fashion & Freedom Friday,

My nervous system thanks you, camera roll. 🫶🏾

Choosing to jump-start my day with inner calm, nervous system regulation, and a resilient mindset.

What a vision. What a way to begin.

What are you choosing to cultivate this morning?

🥒Pickleball Lessons for Life & Leadership:

You might think this is about wearing your best fashion colors on the court, but it’s actually about the vision I set for this morning’s drills:

ELEVATE.

Elevate our mindset to mitigate errors, maximize opportunities, and uplevel our game.

And after a few months together, this was, by far, our most competitive sesh. Jody and Mari even hit 150 consecutive dinks over the net!!! 🎉

What is your vision?

“Where there is no vision men will perish.”
—Proverb

P.S.
Last week, the ladies randomly channeled the baby blue dress-code. This week, it was Glen and me who ended up twinning—donning paddles and pickleballs on our outfits!
