In 2005, Just Us Chickens gallery opened with 18 artists exhibiting everything from jewelry to furniture. In the years since, we've steadily grown to our current roster of over 30 artists. Today we are a shop full of beautiful, hand crafted works of art of all mediums: ceramics, jewelry, fiber, basketry, art from nature, glass, and much more. We are an ideal gift shop as well as a wonderful source for greeting cards.

Just like landscape painting, but with dyed fiber and very sharp needles. Needlefelting landscape work is a true fine art form, and our Lindy Morgan does it so very well. Come in to the shop to browse the fine details of her work.

This little guy looks great on a mantle, windowsill, side table, or any spot in the house. With a spalted maple body and a spalted birch head, this little bird was hand turned by Stephan Mayeux of I Got Lathed . Enjoy him in his natural beauty, or dress him up for the seasons!

Our celebration of all things Kittery continues all month, with special support to Footprints Food Pantry. Later this month we will present Footprints with a support check that will include the proceeds of our May plant sale, together with all other donations collected from our generous customers. We are celebrating Kittery during the whole month of September! Kittery has been good to us for the whole 21 years that we have been here, and we are celebrating all month. Our Guest Artist this month is Marymalane Mayo of Whimsied by Design. She is a Kittery artist known for her distinctive, whimsical style. Using bright colors and patterns, she builds layers and textures that give her work an almost quilted look. She enjoys painting whimsical villages, local landmarks, and custom versions of clients’ homes. Her work will be for sale in the shop all month. Stay tuned for details on more of our Kittery celebration.

Meet Vera, Bonnie, and Desdemona! These sweet sea angels made with sea glass and stained glass by artist Merri Lassotovitch of Gull Cottage Crafts are just waiting for someone to take them home. There are many more to choose from, as well as larger unique pieces. Only one more day to pick up one of Merri's pieces, as her time as Guest Artist ends on Monday, August 31.
