We went on a dig today with the Feather River Lapidary and Mineral Society (a club in Oroville, CA). Finding soapstone was our quest today. The Plumas National Forest was beautiful, even with the burn scars from a large fire a few years ago. Everyone found great pieces. Can't wait to take a carving class soon and make something with what we found.

The IGWS Learning Lab reopens this week! We will be open for public visitation on:

🪨 Tuesday June 16th & Thursday June 18th, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. These will be quieter, less busy days.

💎 Saturday June 20th, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is the grand reopening event, come ready to celebrate!

I was recently in Madson, Wisconsin and had some free time so I visited the geology museum on the university campus. This is a free museum and a lot is packed into it. Very impressive! Check out the universities in cities that you visit. Many have interesting museums and exhibits.
