As the calendar flips over to November a lot of people’s thoughts turn to Christmas. I will always savor the sweet lull between Halloween and December 1. At our house the business of football begins to wind down and we can truly sit back and enjoy fall before all Christmas breaks loose the day after Thanksgiving.

My friend Emily requested a fall wreath for her front porch. She has a gorgeous dark wood front door, so I selected orange and yellow blooms to stand out. Magnolia leaves are always so pretty, so those were included as well. It looked fine on my weathered fence (first picture) and it looked okay at close range on Emily’s front door (second picture), but it just didn’t pop when looking at it from the street. Thankfully I found some faux Lunaria with a pearly-silvery finish that did the trick (final picture)!

If you want a little splurge for your holiday this year, I’d love to help you with a faux or real arrangement for Thanksgiving or Christmas!

Thankful for cooler weather and fall colors and new opportunities like this fall wreath for a commercial client. To be honest, I’d never done a wreath and was more than a little nervous about it. But getting out our comfort zone helps us grow! Thank you Pamela Ironside for the gentle nudge!

The late afternoon sun gave the burgundy berries and leaves a pinkish glow, and I sort of love that the colors transition right along with the daylight.

Bread bowls are big right now, and the base of this arrangement belonged to my great grandmother. I love the different sizes and textures of the faux florals. Once I’m sure fall is here, these metallic accented pumpkins will add a seasonal element to the display.

The container is a utensil holder from Target and the flowers are faux (but
they look like real hydrangeas which are still available at the wholesale florist). Love bright blue with pale pink.

Hi friends! Welcome to La Floraison, which means “bloom” or “blossom” in French. For over 15 years I have selected and arranged flowers for worship services and banquets at my church and want to use that experience to enhance your Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter table. Formal or casual, large or small, real or high quailty faux flowers add an extra special touch to family gatherings or parties with friends.

And I'd love to incorporate something from your own collection into the arrangement. A bowl or cake plate that belonged to your grandmother, candlesticks or stemware that you received as a wedding gift, almost anything that is waterproof can serve as a vessel for your arrangement.

This holiday season is likely to be different than years past, focusing on smaller gatherings at home. Let me help make it special with flowers.
