EQUIPPING and giving women access to products that can protect them. Most women have never held a stun gun and can’t tell you where she could find one to see, hold and purchase. We are hearing it from customers time and again. Having an item in your hand in that dark parking lot just makes the walk to your car feel safer. It is not a false sense of security, it's knowing that you are better off just carrying a deterrent than you were empty handed. EDUCATING women by providing them with resources to back up their purchase with self-defense training. We are very excited to share our affordable and adorable line of products with you! Whether you are at home or traveling, running the greenbelt or celebrating downtown with the girls, Damsel in Defense has the products and fact-based education that can and does save lives! All of our products are non-lethal, covered by warranties and backed by satisfaction guarantees. THE EFFECTS OF TRAUMA ON MENTAL HEALTH

Many survivors of sexual violence experience depression, PTSD, self-harm, eating disorders, and flashbacks after experiencing trauma. Recovering from sexual assault or abuse is a process, and that process looks different for everyone. There is no timetable for healing.

“Every survivor’s healing journey is unique and it's crucial that we’re aware of the effects trauma can have on mental health,” said Keeli Sorensen, vice president of victim services at RAINN.
