Celebrating Gemma & Hermione ❤️

It is never easy to say goodbye to people who have become such an important part of our Salvation Army family.

Gemma and Hermione have blessed us in so many ways. Gemma’s kindness, warm smile, and faithful service as our cashier have touched everyone who walked through our doors. Although her last day has already come, we want her to know how much she has meant to us and how much she will be missed.

Hermione has poured her heart into our Thrift Store as manager. Her dedication, leadership, hard work, and love for people have made a lasting impact: not only on our team, but on our entire community. As she prepares to leave the Island, we want her to feel the gratitude and appreciation she has earned.

David and I are deeply thankful for both of these amazing women. They have served with compassion, commitment, and joy, and we have been blessed to work alongside them.

The Kodiak community has come to know and appreciate Gemma and Hermione, and many lives have been touched by their kindness. We invite you to stop by Friday and Saturday to share a memory, offer your thanks, and let them know how much they are loved. Gemma is gone but feel free to leave a comment for her below!

Two customers had their bikes taken from this spot. The two bicycles were locked together with a heavy bike lock.
One was a Dark Green Surley bicycle
The other was a specialized black bicycle with suspension. If you have seen anything or see these bicycles out in the community, please call salvation Army or the police. The police have been notified.
