just as Memphis changed the face of design. Founded by husband-and-wife Adrian Olabuenaga and Lesley Bailey, ACME Studios has elevated the standard for fine writing instruments by pushing the boundaries of production while maintaining the highest standard of quality and integrity. Nominated for multiple design awards including the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award, ACME’s product is distributed by leading retailers and museums, with multiple shop-in-shops and freestanding flagship stores worldwide. From the strong relationships ACME builds with their artists and designers to the company’s inspiring facilities designed by Ettore Sottsass on the hillside of Haleakala Crater in Maui, ACME Studio has earned a place as a recognized leader in superior product design. ACME was nominated in 2009 for a National Design Award in Corporate Achievement by the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum. In 2010, they were again nominated but this time in 2 categories (product design and corporate achievement). In 2012, ACME’s Playhouse pen designed by Frank Lloyd Wright was awarded a GOOD Design Award. Additionally, Shigeru Ban's Scale pen won the Good Design Award USA.
