Today, I’m thinking about Dolly Parton and the incredible legacy she leaves behind—not only through her music, but through her unwavering belief that every child deserves the opportunity to dream, learn, and imagine.
Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she helped put millions of books into the hands of children and made the simple act of receiving a book feel like something magical. While I wasn’t able to enroll my own children in the program because of where we live, I have always deeply admired what it represents: the belief that a book can change a child’s world.
As a Little Free Library stewardess, that mission feels especially close to my heart. Every book shared, every child who discovers a new favorite story, and every neighbor who takes a book and leaves one behind is a small continuation of the kind of kindness Dolly spent her life giving to others.
Her legacy reminds us that we don’t have to do something enormous to make a difference. Sometimes it’s as simple as putting a book in someone’s hands and giving them a little more hope, imagination, and possibility.
So, in honor of Dolly, let’s keep sharing books.
Let’s keep encouraging children to dream.
Let’s keep choosing kindness.
And let’s keep giving a little love wherever we can.
Rest in peace, Dolly. Thank you for reminding the world that generosity, imagination, and a good book CAN change everything! 📚 ✨ 🩷
