Now in Stock at The Brass Ark: Aqua Cloud!

One of the most practical accessories we've added to the shop in a long time.

The Aqua Cloud is a simple solution to a problem every brass player has dealt with: where to empty your water key. Instead of leaving condensation on rehearsal room, stage, or studio floors, the Aqua Cloud provides a dedicated absorbent surface that helps keep performance spaces cleaner, safer, and more professional.

Made from highly absorbent diatomaceous earth, it quickly absorbs moisture and gradually dries between uses. You can place it on the floor or use the included clip-on shelf to mount it to the base of your music stand for a clean, elegant setup that's always within reach. If it ever gets dirty, simply wash it with mild soap and a soft brush and it's ready to go again.

Designed by trombonist Lee Allen, Chair of Brass and Percussion and trombone faculty at The Tianjin Juilliard School, and manufactured in Taiwan, this is one of those accessories you don't realize you need until you own one.

We've got them in stock now and they're ready for immediate shipment! Order yours on the website here:

One of the newest additions to The Brass Ark Museum is something pretty special: Vincent Bach trombone serial number 22.

Built on August 27, 1929, it is one of the earliest surviving Bach trombones and offers a fascinating glimpse into Vincent Bach's experimental years as an instrument maker. While researching its history, I uncovered some surprising names connected to this instrument through its original shop card. Just when I thought the story was complete, I learned from the previous owner's family that this very trombone was aboard the USS Tennessee at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, played by a young Navy bandsman who had originally been assigned to the USS Arizona before his band was transferred.

It's amazing how much history can be carried by a single instrument.

You can read all about it here: https://brassark.com/museum_horns/vincent-bach-new-york-trombone-model-30s-22/

This is an absolutely special trumpet, made in 2010 by Dave Monette as one of the very first batch of Prana trumpets (possibly the 2nd or 3rd Prana 3 made in this line), which were at the time being developed with Wynton (his serial is #2261 for his Prana 3). This one also has a beautiful brushed 24k gold finish with custom Australian Mookalite finger buttons. It includes 4 Monette mouthpieces in gold plated finish along with the original Monette double cases. Also included is the original custom made Monette case in black leather, along with their famous purple velvet interior… its gorgeous. This is a stunning instrument in very nice condition with some minor scratches from light use but no dings. I’m not sure how many of these trumpets were made or if you can even get one anymore… but guaranteed you will be the coolest kid on your block with this trumpet in your arsenal.
