Hi all! Sophie here ☺️ A lot of you have been asking what my plans are for after 6-11 closes and I figured it's time to finally share what I've been working on behind the scenes! Apologies in advance if this is a really long post 😅
Basically, I'm opening a vintage store. Yay! Exciting! Also the most terrified and stressed I've ever been in my life. LOL. The Vintage Virgo has been hovering in the back of my mind for almost 2 years at this point, quietly whispering in my ear, but never felt like an actual possibility for me, so I let it sit there and whisper and mostly didn't think about it. And then, a few months ago, my mom (Kiki), Katie, and I made the difficult decision to close the doors on 6-11 Crystals permanently.
There are some paths you go down in life because they just sort of unfold themselves in front of you as you go and it doesn't even occur to you to veer from the path. And then there are the very clear forks in the road where you are forced to make a choice about which direction you want to move in. 6-11 closing was that fork in the road for me. I could continue working for my mom and helping with her new business venture. Or, I could venture off on my own, down the uncertain, vaguely frightening, but also beautiful and exciting path to building something of my own.
I have so many ideas for this place. I'm taking over the lease on the 6-11 storefront at the end of the year and I cannot wait to transform it into the vintage, secondhand, and local shop of my dreams. I want to host community craft nights and clothing repair workshops. I want my favorite tarot and oracle readers to continue to offer services in the shop. I want to do so many more things I can't even list them all here.
If you've read this far, THANK YOU. I hope you give me and my dream a chance, because I'm so scared this won't work. But I'm even more scared of never trying at all 🩷🖤🩷
