We "mere" humans are made in the image of God. My friend biologist Richard Colling wrote _Random Designer: Created from chaos to connect with the Creator_. Dr. Colling draws a direct line from the Big Bang to the Creator's masterpiece, humans who have the free will to accept or reject a relationship with God. This God says he is "...close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). He became a child, and welcomed, blessed, and praised children. (See Matthew 11:25, 18:1-6, 19:14, 21;16, etc.) The second-century pagan philosopher Celsus scornfully called Christianity "a religion of women, s1aves, and children." Yet the s1aves had it right when they sang "He's Got the Whole World In His Hands." We don't need "experts" in meditation or planetary collapse to save us. God says he will create "new heavens and a new earth" (Isaiah 65:17, Revelation 21:1-4), "the home of righteousness" (2 Peter 3:13). That new creation starts with individuals. Jesse Jackson was quoted as saying "Jesus chose to view the world from a manger looking up rather than from a throne looking down." I say in one of my songs: "Hey What's Happening, Baby?...your cradle is rocking my world."
