ANNOUNCEMENT!!! I have been doing a lot of advertising about my thrift store closing… And now.. it is closed!!
I had someone from out of state contact me this evening and said they are interested in everything in my thrift store, as they are opening their own thrift store. They offered to give a down payment for me to hold it for them until they could come Friday.
I was torn trying to figure out which decision to make. I finally had spent enough time in there organizing and taking advertisement pictures, that I was not so embarrassed at how badly disorganized it was. I was enthused to have people get a better shopping experience in the last couple weeks. . Plus I really hate to disappoint people or have them show up only to find the thrift store empty.
But… whenever I work in the thrift store, it causes me so much back pain, sometimes I can hardly walk. Bending over and lifting cause a lot of pain! (I’ve had 2 discs replaced in my neck. And I’ve been told I need it done in my low back also) So… I have been really dreading the thought of having to load up and haul off with all the leftovers.
Plus, I feared if I asked these people to wait till the end of the month to come get the leftovers, then they would say it wasn’t worth it for them to come anymore.
So tonight as my back was hurting badly… I agreed to lock up the store and hold the stuff for them till Friday. If they don’t take it all, and it’s worth reopening for, I will announce that.
While I feel really badly and am truly very sorry for anyone who was wanting/planning to come yet, it feels like a literal heavy burden has been lifted.
