Today we said goodbye to our beloved Mayor John Black. Nobody was more passionate about the city of La Grange or the people who make up this community. Jen and I have been long time supporters of La Grange Main Street and the events. When we were looking for a new home for Judith M we reached out to Mayor Black and Sandie F about moving to Main Street. He graciously met with us to talk about opportunities. He was extremely supportive of our ideas, understood our visions and helped us find the current location for Judith M. When we had our Grand Opening Fashion Show on Main Street, John was the first one there to congratulate us and welcome us to Main Street. He was always popping in and trying on hats. He would say, let's make a social video post about your hats. We would always pick out a few hats and head out to the street. We would then proceed to talk to everyone on the street, and I'm not sure we ever actually made a video. Even Amelia shared a special bond with Mayor Black and his wooden derby horses he hung on his house every year. One of the last times we saw him he gave her a card making her and Honorary Deputy Mayor. Thank you for everything you have done for Judith M, Jen, Amelia and I. We will definitely miss your passion, enthusiasm and kindness. Our thoughts are with Karen and family.
