Dad’s Ham Shack and I have been testing LoRa boxes for Repeater Sites. We plan to have LoRa APRS nodes and either Meshcore OR Reticulumn powered by POE. You can stack 433 and 915 if you filter the nodes and put the antennas in the dead zone of the other. See the 2nd slide for an example. I yurn the nodes off when I’m using my dual band antenna. The Pi3B+ connected to internet allows us to use raspberry pi connect to update, control, and configure each esp32 remotely. This allows firmware to stay up to date and a half a days drive up most peaks.

See how the 915 is below the 433 1/4 wave ground plane. Both antennas are in each others null zone? Low power, null zones, and filters I thinknare what are making this set up successful. The 433 does have an amplifier on it now increasing the power to 1watt. The Reticulumn node is getting an amplifier this week.

Very quick and dirty $30 jank node. Not a big deal if it gets stolen or removed. They make fantastic meshcore repeaters or transport RNodes. Find the light at Lowe’s. Ask for the part number they normally have them up on a shelf.

Computer efficiency is IMPORTANT. THIS CAN BE THE BIGGEST BARRIER TO RADIO. the programming, the drivers, does it work with windows, intel, arm processors? What laptop and why? Memory and everything else.

How many volts does this need? What’s the output of this power supply? How big is the voltage drop@from power poles? It goes on and on.

This tool won’t give you FUD Lore, or it can send you down a rabbit hole. Claude is my favorite hands down. Learn to prompt it correctly and 9 times out of 10 it’ll get you very close to the result you want. Paste a tech manual and ask it a question. Give it your computer and radio model and ask how to program it. Stop asking Google and make the bot crawl it for you. Stop wasting time.
