Three designs from last week, each with its own personality.

Being in the network, I had the pleasure of working with on Maria and Zachary’s wedding!

Today’s flower delivery took me to Chandler Hill Vineyards in Defiance, Missouri for a Poppy wedding.

Soft whites, green hydrangeas, trailing amaranthus and anthurium came together in these modern floral designs. This photo was taken just after drop off, before they were moved into their final places for the celebration.

Three hours on the road, and the flowers arrived safely and ready for the wedding.

I took our local school colors and gave them a contemporary twist, playing with line, texture, space and asymmetrical balance. School starts next week, so red and white seemed like the perfect colors to work with.

Have you ever wondered why certain colors just seem to belong together?

In this design, yellow and violet sit opposite each other on the color wheel, creating contrast. The other colors add depth, while touches of white give your eye a place to rest.

After a summer filled with bright color, I found myself reaching for something softer. I chose white roses and stock paired with lavender delphinium and statice. Then I shortened the delphinium to let its color take the focus, while the gently curving stock created movement through the designs.

It feels like the seasons are beginning to shift. Not quite an ending and not quite a beginning. Just a little sigh in between.
