When you’re hiking in Colorado, hydration is non-negotiable… especially when you’re Cow. 😂🐄💦

We brought our 44 oz Springland Pets travel water bottle along for our Denver adventures and it was seriously perfect for keeping Cow hydrated on the trails. Easy to carry, easy for him to drink from, and holds plenty of water for a big thirsty boy.

We love Springland Pets products so much that we carry them right here at Petals by Peyton as part of our Paws & Petals line! 🐾

We may be a day late introducing our final kitty, but us cat people know International Cat Day is every day. 😂🐾

Last but certainly not least in our Petals Cat Crew, meet Molly! 🧡

Molly belongs to Mary Kay & was adopted from IVAR about a year ago, but the story of how she ended up with Mary Kay makes this one even better.

Molly was originally named Trolley at IVAR. She was a sweet 9 year old, three legged lady looking for her forever home when IVAR posted a picture of her.

I came into work one day, showed Mary Kay the picture and said, “Mary Kay, you HAVE to get her.” 😂

She brushed me off at first… but then later that day I got a text:

“Can you send me that picture of that cat again? I can’t stop thinking about her.”

I KNEW IT.

Sure enough, the next week Mary Kay came into work & casually dropped the news that SHE ADOPTED HER. She simply could not resist that little face. 🥹

Trolley became Molly, & judging by these pictures, I’d say she’s pretty happy with how things worked out. Three legs certainly don’t slow her down, & she now spends her days exactly where she belongs: comfy, loved & spoiled. 🧡🐱

So basically, I’d like to take partial credit for this adoption. 😂

And THAT officially wraps up our Petals Cat Crew introductions! Thank you to everyone who celebrated Purrs, Paws & Petals with us yesterday & followed along as we introduced all of our cats. 🐾🌿

And remember… if your coworker shows you a shelter cat & says you need it, you probably do. 😂

🐾 Meet Mystery, another member of the Petals Cat Crew! 🐱

Mystery joined our little zoo back in November after Peyton & Ethan made what was supposed to be a normal trip to PetSmart Pet Supplies. As regulars there, we should probably know by now that we cannot be trusted around adoptable animals. 😂

Mystery was hanging out in the back with a few other cats waiting to be adopted. According to Ethan, “she looked at me, I looked at her, & that was it.” We filled out the adoption application, went home to grab a carrier, & came right back for her that same day.

The shelter didn’t know much about her history, which is exactly how she got the name Mystery. 🤎 She’s our sweet little tabby, & now she’s also the very official face of our Mystery Meow Bags!

🐾 Meet the Petals Cat Gang: Mona 🐾

Next up in our International Cat Day introductions is Mona, our little Camp Aramoni souvenir. 😂🤎

Mona’s story started when I was setting up a bridal shower at Camp Aramoni & spotted this tiny kitten all by herself. I asked the staff about her, & they told me they’ve actually found & taken home several cats from around the property. They basically gave me the green light to take her home… so obviously I did. 😂

And that’s exactly how she got her name: Aramoni → Mona. 🥹

She’s the first calico I’ve ever had, & she is absolutely beautiful, but she has the personality to match. She’s VERY vocal & always has something to say. She loves jumping onto our backs & hitching a ride on our shoulders, & she’ll make a run for the great outdoors only to decide approximately 30 seconds later that inside was better. 🐾

If we’re hanging out downstairs, Mona is usually right there with us. She’s curious, social, always involved, & definitely keeps us entertained.

Meet Gianna’s Cat Crew! 🐾

🐱 Little Man
Little Man wandered up to the house about six years ago and decided he was home, and he hasn’t looked back since. He’s full of personality, loves lounging on top of the frog tank and fish tank to watch the world go by, rubs his head on absolutely everything, and is always happy to curl up in bed with Gianna.

🐱 Big Boy
Big Boy was another stray who showed up one day and never had any interest in leaving. Honestly, he should’ve been named Big Baby because he’s scared of just about everything. Every evening you’ll find him snuggled up with Gianna’s mom watching TV, usually hoping for a snack. He snores like a grown man, has the loudest purr you’ll ever hear, and has the prettiest blue eyes. He’s also diabetic and takes his daily insulin shots like a champ.

🐱 Matthew
Matthew joined the family after Gianna’s grandma, Gail, passed away. He and his siblings were found abandoned in a church parking lot, and they were all named after the disciples. Matthew is wonderfully quirky. Every single night, he insists on sitting on Gianna’s mom’s lap during dinner. He’s incredibly talkative, endlessly curious, and if it moves, he’s convinced it’s a toy.

Three cats, three rescue stories, and three completely different personalities. We wouldn’t have them any other way. ❤️🐈

Meet Keystone, the second member of the Petals Cat Crew. 🐈

Back in January, Ethan and I saw a Facebook post from IVAR about a cat who had been waiting for a home for seven years. Seven years. My heart broke instantly, so I drove over and filled out an adoption application.

While I was filling out the paperwork, one of the volunteers noticed my address and asked, “Wait… do you live in Jean Forst’s house?”

Jean Forst was a beloved IVAR volunteer, an active member of our community, and an English professor at IVCC. What we didn’t know was that Keystone had actually been living with Jean as her foster cat. When Jean unexpectedly passed away, Keystone was returned to the shelter.

Then came the part that still gives me chills.

The house Ethan and I live in… is Jean’s house.

Without anyone planning it, Keystone ended up right back in the home he already knew. The moment he walked through the door, you could tell he recognized it. He settled in almost immediately, like he knew he was home again.

Sometimes life has a funny way of bringing things full circle. 🧡

Keystone may have waited seven years for a forever home, but somehow, he found his way back to the place that had always been part of his story.

We can’t wait to see everyone this Saturday for our International Cat Day celebration! Stay tuned because we’ll be introducing the rest of the Petals Cat Crew throughout the week. 🐾💚

🐾 Meet Ellena! 🧡

International Cat Day is this Saturday, so it’s officially time to start introducing the Petals Cat Clan! First up is our chunky little queen, Ellena. 👑

If you’ve ever wondered where Ellena is, there’s about a 95% chance she’s in our bedroom. It’s her safe space, & you’ll usually find her hanging out with Keystone (yes, that’s one of our cats names)… not necessarily snuggling him, but definitely keeping him company. Her other favorite spots include the top of our leopard gecko’s tank or curled up next to our tabby, Mystery. Funny enough, Mystery has really grown on her. 🤍

As you can see… she has never missed a meal. 😂 But don’t blame us! She actually came to us that way. We found her completely by chance on Facebook, thought she was adorable, drove to Marseilles to pick her up in December, & she’s been part of the family ever since.

She’s sweet, loves getting pets, has settled in with everyone, & every now & then likes to remind the other cats who’s in charge with a little sass.💅🏼

And between us… she’s my favorite. 🤫 Just don’t tell the others.
