Oh it sure has been a while!!!! With the holidays, winter, snow, cold, and sickness 😷 the last few months, on top of trying to get my office/ art space completely up and running at home, I just haven’t had the time or energy to do much 😕 but all it seemed to take was a few custom orders to get my “creative juices” flowing again!!! This is the start of an amazing custom piece for a dear friend! I just can’t wait to show you all the finished product!!!!!

Oh my goodness!!!! I was finally able to order a basic set of these brush pens from Amazon after seeing so many others who letter use them. It’s such a fluid flow of ink, easy to maneuver, and overall, just a really fun marker to use!

I have a few projects I’m working on right now that are testing my skills in other artistic ways besides lettering and hopefully, will be able to share them soon!

Until then, I’ll share these markers and my fun worksheets from TwoEasels that I’m just obsessed with!!!!!

There are times a client will give you a quote and say “Go for it!” Without really knowing their vision. This was just that situation. We went through a few designs before we decided on the last one. It still isn’t perfect, but hopefully gives the client a good idea of what the finished product will be. Her vision is white letters on a black background just as you see in the last photo—in which i used silver on black not knowing I didn’t have a white paint pen 🤦🏻‍♀️. I love what I do and hopefully will inspire others as I learn my way in this world!!!!!

Currently working on a piece for my moms new house and doing..... lettering drills all while home with a sick boy :( On days like these I need my coffee!!!! Complete with my snowman mug my boy got me for Christmas!!! We don’t have any snow but the cold has hit us today! Keep warm my friends and when in doubt, MAKE MORE COFFEE!!!!!

This isn’t quite the same thing that I normally post here, but in addition to hand lettering/art, I have very much been into reading books about women. It started with reading Becoming by . After reading her book I felt compelled to read more about powerful women. While this particular book is written from a more fiction based perspective, I quite enjoy how the author gives Zelda “the voice she struggled to have heard in her lifetime”— as said by Sara Gruen on the front of the book. I’m curious, what are all of you interested in reading? Have there been any books lately that just completely compel you to find more of your own inner strength????

I’m cleaning up my laptop to run my new Adobe suite which will hopefully help my business flourish and cleaning out emails. Who else has over 10K emails just sitting around in your inbox??? 🤦🏻‍♀️

2018 has been a rough year for my family and it has been easy to forget that wonderful things have also happened despite the tragedy.
So going into 2019, I want to start keeping track of all the things that make me happy and fill me with joy.
I just finished the intro page to my new gratitude journal and can’t wait to fill up these pages this year with all the beautiful things 2019 will hopefully bring!!!

It has been a really long time since I have posted anything. The time around the holidays always gets busy! But my husband got me two really awesome stylus/Pens for my iPad and I’m attempting to figure out Procreate. This is just a random sketch I did, but I have a feeling you will be seeing a lot of new work from me VERY soon!!!!!

Well the Holiday is Season is definitely in full swing! Between the activities and just spending time with family, I have had little time to work on signs. But that doesn’t mean I don’t have quite a few things in the works!

Stay tuned for some really FUN things that will be happening at Taryn’s Scrawl Space in the coming year!!!

For now I’ll leave you with the fun cookies I had the pleasure of making with my sister, grandmother and aunts last weekend. 24 dozen sugar cookies baked in 3.5 hours!!!!!!
