Watch out for free flu shots signs. No, I do not believe there are free flu shots at corporate locations posting these signs. Try and get one free and without billing your insurance…

CDC recommends against getting flu shots in July and August for a reason. Evidence shows you have the most coverage from about 2 weeks to 6-8 months. Best time to get your vaccine to cover you through the entire season is mid-September to early October.

Watch out for corporate initiatives to increase profits by giving flu shots before other providers will reasonably give them. Now, if there is a reason that you cannot get a flu vaccine in September or October, by all means consider getting a flu vaccine early.
