❄️ Winter Storm Pet Safety Reminder ❄️

As an upcoming winter storm approaches our area, we want to remind everyone to take a few extra precautions to keep your pets safe and comfortable.

🐾 Bring pets indoors. Freezing temperatures, wind, and ice can be dangerous—especially for elderly pets, puppies, and short-haired breeds.
🐾 Limit time outside. Keep potty breaks short and wipe paws afterward to remove ice, salt, and chemicals that can irritate skin.
🐾 Provide warmth. Make sure pets have a warm, dry place to sleep away from drafts. Extra STRAW go a long way! Do NOT use blankets as they absorb moisture and freeze.
🐾 Check water sources. Ensure outdoor animals have unfrozen, fresh water at all times.
🐾 Be mindful of antifreeze. It is highly toxic to animals—clean up any spills immediately.
🐾 Have a plan. Stock up on pet food, medications, and supplies in case travel becomes difficult.

If you see an animal left outside without proper shelter during extreme cold, please reach out to animal control.

Thanksgiving is the one day a year when it’s totally acceptable to eat so much that you suddenly feel like a turkey yourself! Remember, if you can still waddle to the couch afterward, you’ve done it right. Just don’t forget to unbutton those jeans and leave room for dessert—because who are we kidding?
