🫶Feeling so grateful that I live in a place that has a very strong sense of community

🤝This past weekend I was talking with someone else who lives on the island about how it feels like we live in a paradise oasis, not solely because of the land and nature, but because the people who live here live with compassion, love, trust, and above all, respect for their community.

☮️ I feel safe on the Big Island. I feel supported by the people around me. I know that if I encounter a stranger I am more likely to have a friendly conversation with them than not to.

💔I see the global news and it breaks my heart. People who are trying to live with love and intention are being massacred.

🙏I pray for Gaza, Sudan, and the Congo everyday that the people who are kind, loving and care for their community will survive.

☯️ Balancing the happiness and love that I give to my community as well as the grief I feel for the rest of the world weighs heavy on the heart. Being able to see and feel both is to embrace the light and darkness of the world, the ying and yang.
