The origin of the surfing competition jacket can be traced back to the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, when area surf club members would don jackets featuring club emblems and surfer names. These jackets acted as a sort of uniform on competition days. Surfers would throw the jackets on to ward off the cold on crisp mornings, and to chase the chill after exiting the water.
The comp jacket has become a regular part of our wardrobe, and a key part of our cold weather offering.
