🦆 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆!

Louisiana’s statewide September teal season runs 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁. 𝟭𝟵–𝟮𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, offering hunters an early opportunity to get back in the marsh.

🎯 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁: During the September teal season, 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗹𝘂𝗲-𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱, 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻-𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱. Black-bellied whistling ducks and all other waterfowl species are 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 during this season.

note: Teal may also be harvested during the regular duck season, which begins in November.

Before heading afield, make sure you have the required licenses and certifications:

🔹 All waterfowl hunters 𝟭𝟲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 must have a 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗽.
🔹 Hunters 𝟭𝟴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 must also have a basic hunting license, waterfowl license and 𝗛𝗜𝗣 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.
🔹 Youth 𝟭𝟳 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 do not need a hunting license.

Many LDWF Wildlife Management Areas offer teal hunting opportunities, including Pass-a-Loutre, Atchafalaya Delta, Pointe-aux-Chenes, Sherburne, Dewey Wills and Russell Sage WMAs. Remember, visitors 𝟭𝟴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 must have the appropriate WMA access permit or qualifying license.
