Today, August 14th, we honor Saint Maximilian Kolbe, a Franciscan friar, publisher, and martyr of charity whose heroically courageous love shone brightly in one of history’s darkest places.

In July 1941, while imprisoned at Auschwitz, ten men were chosen to starve to death in retaliation for an escaped prisoner. When one of the condemned men cried out for his family, Father Maximilian stepped forward and calmly offered to take his place: “I am a Catholic priest. I wish to die for him.”

For two weeks in the starvation bunker, instead of despair, Kolbe led his fellow prisoners in prayers, hymns, and spiritual comfort until his death on August 14.

Saint John Paul II declared him a "Martyr of Charity." He serves as a powerful reminder that love is ultimately an act of the will, and that no amount of darkness can extinguish the light of true selflessness.

Today, August 10th, we celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Lawrence, deacon, martyr, and easily one of the most courageously joyful saints in history!

When the Roman Prefect demanded that Lawrence hand over all the “treasures of the Church,” Lawrence spent three days gathering the poor, the sick, the blind, and the suffering. Presenting them to the prefect, he famously declared: “These are the true treasures of the Church.”

For his faith, he was sentenced to death on a hot iron grill. Yet, even in his final moments, his unfailing joy and humor couldn't be extinguished, giving us one of history’s greatest quotes and making him the official patron saint of cooks, chefs, comedians, and barbecue! 🥩🥖

May we all live with a fraction of Saint Lawrence’s generosity, love for the poor, and unbreakable joy, even in the heat of life’s greatest trials.

Legend tells us that Saint Dominic received the Holy Rosary from the Blessed Virgin Mary as a powerful tool for prayer and spiritual weapon for peace—a tradition that continues to shape our faith today. 📿

Today, July 14, we honor the feast day of St. Kateri Tekakwitha. Known as the Lily of the Mohawks, Kateri’s life was a beautiful testament to courage, resilience, and quiet devotion.

Despite facing isolation, illness, and intense pressure from her community, she walked her path of faith with unshakeable grace. She found God’s presence deeply woven into the natural world around her, proving that holiness thrives wherever a heart is completely surrendered to love.

May we look to her example today to find peace in creation, strength in hardship, and the courage to follow Christ no matter the obstacles. 🌸🙏

Today, July 4, we celebrate the feast day of Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati, a modern saint who reminds us that holiness isn’t just for the history books—it’s for right here, right now.

Known as the "Man of the Beatitudes," Pier Giorgio lived a life of intense prayer, deep charity, and radical joy. Whether he was advocating for the poor, studying engineering, or scaling the Italian Alps, he did everything with an infectious love for God.

He famously said:

"I urge you to pray, for prayer is the only way by which our souls can receive the light and strength they need."

On this feast day, let’s ask for his intercession to help us live with the same passion, purpose, and devotion. Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati, pray for us!

📅 June 29 — The Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul 🕊️

Today, we celebrate two of the greatest pillars of the Christian faith!

Though they had completely different backgrounds, personalities, and paths, St. Peter and St. Paul were united in their fierce love for Christ and their mission to spread the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

⚓ St. Peter, the fisherman, was chosen by Jesus to be the "rock" upon which the Church was built. He reminds us of the power of forgiveness, resilience, and steady leadership.
✉️ St. Paul, the scholar and tireless missionary, courageously took the Gospel to the Gentiles, showing us what it means to completely transform your life for Christ.

Together, their lives remind us that God can use anyone—no matter our flaws or where we come from—to do extraordinary things for His kingdom. Let’s pray for the courage to live out our faith just as boldly as they did!
