After a week of dropping everything because of the older boys and Jen getting covid and watching the youngest knuckle head. The three convicts were released and me and the boys got out for some fishing. My reward was my personal best bass at 7.5lbs. Now here’s to getting back in the swing at the farm and wood shop this week.

If anyone wants hands on learning, here’s the chance.

Many of you indicated you would like a class on how to cut up a chicken. The first two classes will be held this Friday at 9:00 am and at 1:00 pm. The class requires a registration and is limited to three individuals per session. Registration requires you call Jeff, 540-809-4271.

To learn how to cut up a chicken requires that you have chickens to cut up and practice. It also means you have to bring your own knives. The knives should be sharp.

The cost of the class is $130.00, which includes your five practice chickens. Five just might be enough for you to remember when you cut up number 6 on your own. Think you need more practice? The 10 chicken price is $250.00.

You need to pre-register to insure there will be chickens for you. To register, call Jeff at 540-809-4271

It’s a piglet catching day for the farm campers today. Good thing they roam freely and go back to their pen when they want. I think this was the only one wrangled today. Project updates coming Wednesday.

After a week of no kiddos on the farm. We’re starting back up with the enrichment program tomorrow. After that I will be headed back to the shop to start knocking out future projects and gearing up many things to come.

Week three of summer enrichment camp is a wrap. Got the best of both worlds with the big kids; I got to show them farm chores and was able to teach them about woodworking. Most of these kiddos had never used power tools and were hooked after using a saw for the first time. Now for a week of just farm work, business projects, and recovery from camp. All before they come again for three more age groups over three weeks.

We have been giving updates here and there, and talking about the lack of project posts. We have been hard at work trying to find the balance of where live has been taking our family and loving every minute of it. Now will be sharing the best of both words moving forward. I have projects coming that we can’t wait to share. Like barn door work and a local animal shelter project, But for now I’ll share Jen and Farmer Jeff’s summer project of starting a summer farm camp.

With school out and coming home from vacation. We jumped…..well Jen and Farmer Jeff jumped right into farm camp and then threw me in. Walnut Hill Farm at Elm Springs, LLC has several weeks this summer of camp. Jen and Jeff have worked hard to gear activities and content towards the different age groups. It’s been truly amazing to see how excited and ready to learn and work the little guys in session one have been.

Head to their page they have the details pinned in a post up top.

After two weeks of crud and pneumonia it’s been nice be back on my feet and starting the catch up process. A lot of medication helps big time but these two also help a lot. Excited to get things back to normal.

Its definitely obvious that these two were all smiles to spend their first day of summer on the farm at Walnut hills helping everyone get things done in the chilly drizzle. Looking forward to what the summer has to offer at home, farm, and at the shop.

So I know we have been quite on our page recently. We have been working on some new things and working on how we can bring bigger and better projects to our clients.

My wife got a little confused on what bigger and better projects. She lost her mind the other day and brought Coco and her 6 puppies home to foster. While Jen is still out of her mind and unfortunately I can’t pay the high rate for her parents warranty and return, we are now helping Coco fight a battle against heartworms and lymes mainly along with a few other things. The shelter and a shelter support group are asking for donations to help this pup and her puppies have the best life possible.

Despite being used as a puppy factory, never getting any kind of medical care, or clean home she is easily one of the best dogs I’ve been around. She already loves riding in the front seat of the truck. I demoted Jen to the back seat 🤪 and is showing signs of being one hell of a “SHOP” buddy.
