🇺🇸 SATURDAY SPOTLIGHT: MIKE & ALISA M. 🇺🇸
Happy Saturday, Lake Havasu City! Let us introduce Mike and Alisa M.
Mike has volunteered with Veterans Thrift Nonprofit for two and a half years and now serves as a member of our Board of Directors. He joined the United States Marine Corps right out of high school and served for 13 years, working as an aviation electrician. He later spent 30 years caring for others as an emergency room registered nurse before retiring.
Alisa enjoyed a successful 35-year career in banking and is now one of our dedicated volunteers. She was actually the one who first asked Mike to come help at Veterans Thrift!
Mike remembers the moment he knew our organization was a cause worth supporting. Alisa called and told him she needed help delivering furniture to a veteran. They loaded their trailer with items from Veterans Thrift and took them directly to the veteran. Once Mike saw firsthand that we were truly helping local veterans, he knew he wanted to be part of our mission.
Mike and Alisa vacationed in Lake Havasu City for many years before making it their permanent home five years ago. When they are not volunteering, they enjoy boating—sometimes three times a week—camping, riding their side-by-side, attending church, and spending time with family and friends.
Giving back and paying it forward have always been important to Mike and Alisa, and we are very fortunate to have them as part of the Veterans Thrift family.
We appreciate all of our wonderful volunteers! If you would like to volunteer, we would love to have you come down to Veterans Thrift Nonprofit and help wherever you can. We welcome couples as well as individuals—there is always a place for a helping hand! 🇺🇸
