PCT Class of 2026! Celebrate your first 500 miles of some of the toughest desert terrain Southern California has to offer!

Our limited edition PCT Class of 2026 mugs feature some of our favorite landmarks and obstacles. If you started out from the Southern Terminus, you've survived the rain, shine, cold, heat, sores, aches, and restless nights. You climbed the Laguna Mountains, crossed the San Felipe Hills, scaled 9,030 feet of elevation gain up San Jacinto, survived the scorching (freezing?!) flats of San Gorgonio Pass, navigated the San Gabriels, and earned your photo at Eagle Rock. You dodged poodle dog bush, side-eyed every nope rope (rattlesnake), and either baked under the Mojave sun or got absolutely soaked, possibly both, maybe on the same day.

This is your little reminder that we have a Pet Micro-chip scanner @ The Outpost.

👉 Located on the East, exterior wall of the Outpost. Across from the Rock Inn, at 17536 Elizabeth Lake Rd, Lake Hughes, CA 93532.

🚨 Found a Stray Pet? Here’s What To Do! 🚨
1. 🐕🐈 Secure the animal on a leash or in a carrier
2. 📝 Note where found, breed/color/gender, approx. age, and unique features
3. 📸 Take a photo of the pet
4. Visit your nearest Pet Scanner to check for Micro-chip ID

🔎 How to Scan:
• ▶️ Press power button to turn on scanner
• ↕️ Slowly wave it up & down the pet’s back (no need to touch)
• 🔔 If chip is found, scanner will beep & show a number
• ✍️ Write down the number or snap a pic

📞 Next Steps:
👉 Text or call 661-622-4048 with:
• Your name & contact info
• Location found + Pet Scan Station used
• Pet’s details & photo
• Microchip number (if found)
• Can you safely keep them for 24 hours?

📢 Volunteers can help with fostering, animal transportation, posting to social media, and contacting LA Animal Services.

💡 Reminder:
• LA County requires found animals be reported within 4 hours.
• Pets must be held for a 14-day stray hold before rehoming.

Instead of setting up outside, we’re transforming the inside of The Lake Hughes Outpost into a cozy little marketplace filled with creativity, imagination & handmade goodness from our incredible local kiddos. 🧚🌿

It may be a little tight and a little extra cozy in our tiny Outpost space, but we’re making it work and would absolutely love your support today. These young makers have worked so hard creating their goodies and we can’t wait for the community to show up for them. 🧡

This Saturday from 10–2, come support some incredibly creative local kiddos as they sell handmade art, crafts, goodies & more right here in the heart of Lake Hughes. We are so excited to give young makers a space to shine and share their creativity with the community.

Grab a coffee from Earth Local Coffee, pick up delicious baked treats from Lynn’s Cafe, try some amazing handcrafted hummus from Monetti's kitchen, the Carb Father will have delicious sourdough and snag some local honey.

Good morning, Lakes & Valleys friends ☀️

It’s another beautiful Small Business Monday at The Outpost, and this weekend we are especially excited to celebrate the next generation of makers, dreamers & entrepreneurs during our Kids Pop-Up Market this Saturday from 10–2! 🧡

We’ll be welcoming talented local kids selling handmade goodies, crafts, art, baked treats and more right outside The Outpost — all with that cozy small-town charm we love so much. There’s something really special about watching young creatives build confidence, share their passions and be supported by this incredible community.

Come spend the day shopping small, grabbing a delicious drink from Earth Local Coffee, enjoying baked goodies from Lynn’s Cafe, and supporting both our amazing Outpost artists and our young local vendors.
