I’d say I had a pretty productive weekend! 🏔️ Phases 1, 2 & 3 are complete, and now the real fun begins: building the mountains!

This is one of my favorite parts of the process—sorting through each piece of wood, turning them in my hands, and searching for the perfect shape, texture, and character. Little by little, the layers rise, the depth begins to emerge, and individual pieces transform into a mountain range with a personality all its own.

I’m also preparing for the Tehachapi Apple Festival in October, so there’s plenty to keep me busy as I bring these mountain pieces to life. I can already picture the finished range coming together, and I can’t wait to see where this build takes me! ❤️

Today is what I like to call Phase One & Phase Two of the creating process! 🌲🪵

Phase One: I start with a blank canvas—beautiful, bare wood just waiting for an idea.

Phase Two: The base colors go on, and that’s when I let all those creative juices start flowing! 🎨

I don’t always know exactly where a piece will take me, and that’s part of what I love about creating. Watching a simple piece of wood slowly come to life is one of my favorite parts of the process.

Every now and then, I like to highlight one of our pieces! Last time, it was our 6-ft shelf piece, but today I wanted to shine a little light on one of our smaller creations. ❤️

This 2-ft piece may be smaller, but it sure makes a statement! It would look beautiful in just about any room and is the perfect size to add a little touch of nature and character to your home.

It’s been a while since we’ve created a shelf piece, and I’m so excited to share this one!

One of my favorite things about this piece is that it was crafted from a single cut slab of wood, allowing the natural beauty and grain to shine through. Every piece of wood tells its own story, and this one is truly stunning.

At just over 5 feet long, it would make a beautiful statement over a bed, a sofa, an entryway—or just about anywhere in your home.
