Come demo the latest Orbea mountain bikes Thursday, September 3rd at High Peaks Cyclery!
The Orbea demo van will be in town and we'll have an afternoon filled with free bike demos from 12pm-5pm, followed by a group ride for all levels at 5:30pm.

There will be Oiz, Occam SL and LT, Rallon, Rallon RS, Wild and Rise bikes available to demo!

Location: High Peaks Cyclery 2733 Main Street, Lake Placid, NY

Details:
Demos - 12pm to 5pm (first come first serve) but if there is a model and size you are interested in, please reach out and we will do our best to have it available for you. We will have route maps available if you are not familiar with the trails close to HPC.

Group Ride - 5:30pm. Approximately 1 hour ride and all abilities are allowed. Reserve the bike you would like to ride at the following link!

Tonight is the final Monday Night Mini Tri of the 2026 summer season! Weather forecast looks to be pushing the rain back into the later evening, but we’ll post an update around 3:30pm with any updates.

Thanks everyone for making it a fun summer of triathlons with over 300 different people making it to the starting line so far this year!

The Monday Night Mini Tri continues today with the addition of a kids race this afternoon with the Lake Placid Outing Club!

All are welcome to join in. If not ready to bike, register for the splash and dash category to swim and run while taking part in the fun!

For the evening Tri we are keeping an eye on the weather. With the small chance of rain in the forecast things look like they will go ahead as scheduled at this point.

Town of North Elba Celebrates Grand Opening of the North Elba Community Pump Track

Lake Placid, NY — The Town of North Elba is excited to invite residents and visitors to celebrate the official Grand Opening of the North Elba Community Pump Track on Tuesday, August 4, at 4:45 p.m.

The new pump track is a fun, inclusive recreational space designed for riders of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or trying a pump track for the first time, the community is encouraged to come out, celebrate, and experience this exciting new addition to North Elba’s outdoor recreation offerings.

The grand opening ceremony will include brief remarks recognizing the many partners and individuals who helped make the project possible, followed by the official ribbon cutting and an opportunity for riders to be among the first to enjoy the track.

This project has been funded by a grant from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), Adirondack Park Community Smart Growth Program through appropriations from the New York State Environmental Protection Fund (EPF). The Town of North Elba extends its sincere appreciation for the DEC’s support of this project through grant funding and its continued commitment to expanding outdoor recreation opportunities throughout our communities.

The track was designed and installed by Adirondack resident Maxwell Van Wie of Backslope Trail Building.

“This pump track is an exciting investment in our community that promotes healthy lifestyles, outdoor recreation, and provides another destination for families and visitors to enjoy,” said Rick Preston, Town Supervisor. “We’re grateful to the NYS DEC and everyone who helped bring this vision to life.”

The Monday Night Mini Tri Series continues this evening with the post-Ironman edition!

Come on out if you were inspired by the racing yesterday, and if you did race Ironman and need to flush out the muscles, your entry is free this week!

For first timers, we allow both 2 and 3 person teams, so you can ease your way into the sport.

Registration starts in person at 5:30pm, with race briefing at 6:15, and start at 6:30pm.
