This homecoming meant something deeper for a woman we truly admire. 🇭🇹

As a Haitian woman, Kate’s visit to our factory in Port-au-Prince was more than a behind-the-scenes tour. It was an opportunity to experience another side of Haitian business, one rooted in extraordinary craftsmanship, dignified employment, creativity, and possibility.

Inside the factory, Kate met the talented artisans behind every Deux Mains piece and witnessed firsthand what can happen when Haitian talent is met with meaningful opportunity.

She was blown away by the skill, energy, and excellence she found within our walls, and we are honored that she has chosen to help share this story with her community. So we are incredibly proud to welcome as the newest Deux Mains Brand Ambassador.

What does a day at Deux Mains really look like?

It’s early morning meetings, checking every stitch, solving problems on the factory floor, laughing with our team, celebrating progress, and dreaming about what’s next.

After nearly two years without being able to travel to Haiti, this trip has been a powerful reminder of why we do this work. Every bag begins with people not machines. Every order helps create dignified jobs, strengthen families, and prove that beautiful products can create lasting impact.

After many months of being unable to travel due to the political and security crisis, our founder Julie and COO Sarah have finally returned to Port-au-Prince.

This visit is more than a homecoming, it’s a celebration of resilience. Together with the incredible Haitian team, we’re celebrating the continued growth of the Deux Mains factory, proving that hope, opportunity, and beautiful craftsmanship can flourish even in the hardest circumstances.

What started as a trip to Haiti became a purpose far greater than Julie ever imagined. In this clip from her conversation on Good Day Orange County, Julie shares how one unexpected decision led to building a brand that’s creating lasting change.

Through Rebuild Globally’s education program, we’ve hired more than 50 graduates to work in our solar-powered factory, where they handcraft our leather bags, accessories, and school shoes.
