One of my favorite parts of Visit Central Florida Burger Week is watching restaurants step outside their comfort zone.

Brack Shack Bar and Grill is already known across Polk County for their barbecue egg rolls, but this year they took a different path with a Teriyaki Burger.

On paper, it sounds like a lot.

Sweet teriyaki sauce, pepper jack, slaw, a double patty, sesame bun

The real question wasn’t whether it had good ingredients.

It was whether they could balance them.

They absolutely did.

The crisp slaw cuts through the richness, the teriyaki never overpowers the beef, and everything works together exactly the way you’d hope.

This one is worth the drive.

Some restaurants become part of a city’s identity.

If you grew up in Lakeland, chances are you’ve got an S&L Restaurant story.

That’s what makes this stop so special.

The Dirty Burger isn’t trying to reinvent the burger—it just does everything right. Double smash patties, provolone, onion straws, and house-made hot honey all come together exactly the way you’d hope.

The best part?

Walking through the door feels like coming home.

If you’ve never been, Visit Central Florida Burger Week is a great excuse. If you have
you already know.

Some places don’t need to reinvent themselves—they just need to keep doing what they’ve always done well.

For 75 years, Andy's Igloo Restaurant has been serving families in Winter Haven, and walking through the front door feels like stepping back into some of your favorite memories.

Their Visit Central Florida Burger Week special isn’t trying to be flashy. It’s a classic burger with fries and slaw for just $9.95, cooked on a griddle that’s been turning out burgers for generations.

Sometimes simple really is better.

And one more thing

Don’t leave without getting a shake.

What’s your favorite old-school burger joint?

Not every BBQ burger works
 this one does.

The Twisted Prop combined a juicy beef patty with hickory smoked pulled pork, crisp slaw, and just enough barbecue sauce to bring everything together without overpowering the burger.

The best part?

You can enjoy it overlooking the water in Winter Haven, making this one of the most unique Burger Week destinations we’ve visited.

If you’re planning one more Visit Central Florida Burger Week stop, this one deserves a look.

One of the best parts of Visit Central Florida Burger Week is watching local restaurants shine.

We’ve known the folks at Fat Maggie's for years, dating back to when they were in Dixieland and buying pellets from our original 900-square-foot Whiskey Bent BBQ Supply store.

Seeing them grow into their new home at Depot 303 makes this stop even more rewarding.

Their Burger Week special keeps it simple—a double smash burger, homemade pickles, garlic aioli, candy bacon, and great ex*****on.

No gimmicks. Just a really well-balanced burger that’s worth the stop.

Some restaurants become part of your story before you even realize it.

When Whiskey Bent BBQ Supply first opened in a 900-square-foot storefront in downtown Lakeland, The Chop Shop Kentucky Avenue Lakeland Florida quickly became one of our favorite lunch spots.

Coming back for Burger Week felt a little like coming home.

Their Southwest Chili Crisp Burger had a lot going on—charred jalapeños, pepper jack, garlic crema, avocado, queso, tortilla strips—but what impressed me most wasn’t the heat. It was how well everything worked together.

This is one I’d absolutely recommend adding to your Burger Week list.

Sometimes Visit Central Florida Burger Week isn’t about finding the biggest burger
it’s about finding a place you never knew you were missing.

Brake Burger Garage in Lake Wales has a fun service station theme, a laid-back atmosphere, and a Burger Week special that delivers from the first bite to the last.

This is exactly why we love doing this series. Every stop introduces us to another locally owned restaurant that’s helping make Polk County’s food scene better.

If you haven’t made it to Lake Wales yet, this one is worth adding to your Burger Week list.

Burger Week Stop #2: The Peach House

When you think Polk County, you think citrus—and Peach House might have embraced that better than anyone.

Their Burger Week burger combines a double smash patty with peppery arugula, crispy bacon, peach chutney, and a citrus herb aioli that keeps every bite balanced from start to finish.

The beef is cooked beautifully, the aioli cuts through the richness, and the peach chutney ties everything back to what makes Polk County special.

If you’re building your Burger Week game plan, this one deserves a spot on your list.
