Family outing today to Mill City museum. I have always been the type of person to look at a piece of machinery and pick it apart in my brain to see how it works. This definitely helps to be creative and a big part of this business.

One of my more popular products has over the years had requests to be made out of metal. I charge $20 for the finished product. My first quote came in today after having a meeting with a company. They are hoping they can do it for about $200 a piece and over time get it down to maybe $150 a piece. I can't see anyone ever paying that much.

If you know anyone that does small orders with a CNC metal machine let me know. Most big production companies won't work with me.

I do have 3-4 others I am talking with, but I don't know that it will get any better.

Making switch box kits today. I make 11 different switch removal tools that I sell separately or as a kit at a discount. Every few months I have to make more kits to restock what I have sold.

They are not my design, but I wanted to test the size I can print on the new printer and I am very impressed with not only the size but the looks also.

This is still my slow time of year so only 1 printer is going for JAR but part of that is because I also have gotten more efficient with the use of the printers by printing on color in every product I sell to have surplus of a product. That gives me the ability to turn printers off and on depending on needs. I have gotten some big orders this summer and I was able to fill them in record time. This also gives me the ability to print new ideas like the dog bus this past week or fun things I find online.

We needed to space out this table leg so I made a drop in spacers and printed it and had them installed all in a couple hours.

If you know Anna Raway, you know she loves her Aldi. If you really know her. You know she hates when you call it Aldi's. So since she is out of town and I know how to do CAD and have printers at my disposal I did a thing.

The question is how many do I make and hide all over the house friends?

I watched YouTube videos when I started this business to teach myself about CAD just a few years back. It's not hard to do and I recommend it to others. This was 25 different parts combined to replace a broken stand support.
