It is with great sadness that we share that our tarot reader, Gretchen lost her house to fire in the early morning of Sunday, August 2nd.

One of her dogs, Remi, alerted her to the fire on the enclosed porch off the kitchen as their smoke detector failed. Within 30 seconds they had to vacate their home before the whole thing went up in flames. Luckily, her, her daughter Piper and their 3 dogs escaped, but the house is gone.

What makes this situation doubly sad is that Gretchen is a vintage, occult and oddity collector. So along with her basics like clothes, furniture, and appliances, she also lost very old pieces that can’t be replaced.

Anything you can donate would be so very appreciated as Gretchen and her daughter start to rebuild their lives.

🎉September 19th! Our anniversary this year coincides with the Practical Magic event we’re cohosting with Magically Found. I still wanted to recognize that we are turning 7 and I’m so unbelievably grateful!
I asked Jacqui (⛓️goblindeathcult⛓️ ) to draw and carve this design for me to celebrate our 7 magically spooky years in business.

❄️😈❄️What better way to kick off the holiday season than with MONSTERS! Join Lakewood Art Supply and Oktober’s as we bring you ‘The Winter Monsters Sidewalk Parade’!

Dress as your favorite holiday creep and join us! Krampus, Mari Lywd, the Yule Cat, Frau Perchta, Yeti, Gryla, and many more! Every country has a spooky holiday monster to encourage good behavior or warn about venturing out in the cold.

We will be starting in the Oktober’s parking lot and walking down to Elbur (1/2 mile) and back. We will have a hot chocolate bar at Madison Park as well as classes to make masks and accessories leading up to the parade. Save the date, start your costumes, tell your friends and get a group together. It’s going to be a spooky good time and we can’t wait to see you! ❄️😈❄️
