Celadon test mugs are out! ☀️👗🖤🍋‍🟩🦋
❓What even is a celadon? And to answer that, we need to hop over to China and go back about 2000 years!

✨Celadon glazes, a mostly transparent glaze with some color and cracking, have been used in China as early as 25 CE. Early versions of this glaze were brown and yellow in color, but developed into a variety of greens over time.

We have a variety of colors, and they pair well with underglaze designs, carving, and stamping as seen in the examples. Try them on your next piece!

Part 3 🎉Glazeware🎉
We made it to the final stage! At this point, the glaze has adhered to (really it melted on to) the surface of your pot.

Through a process called vitrification, all the pores have sealed within the piece and the glaze has created a glass-like surface over top of it. Glazeware is safe to put through the dishwasher and is microwave safe UNLESS it has luster glaze on it (luster glazes have ⚜️🪙 metals mixed in and should not be put in the microwave).

Our very first member party started with a little rain and ended with a full double rainbow over an unforgettable night.

From Mark’s juicy burgers and Shelby’s homemade buns, to mystery grab-bags, custom caricatures, and legendary karaoke performances, Friday night was everything we hoped for and more. 🎤🍔

Thank you to every single person who came out, brought food to share, and made our first official party so special! 🥂❤️

Part 2 - Bisqueware, or as they say in the UK (or so I’ve heard) Biscuit-ware 🍪 (which is a much more delicious way to think of it). At this stage, the piece has undergone some heat-work and is now stable, less fragile, and ready for glaze application.

When anyone asks why ceramics take so long, it’s because they are 3 different stages the pieces goes through before reaches it’s final form; not to mention the trimming, designing, and glazing that goes into it as well! Greenware is the first stage and is when the piece is at it’s most fragile, so we handle these pieces with a lot of care.
