We're starting the week with a huge amount of Stephen King, some new (okay. new only to us!) Dean Koontz, a boatload of Fantasy and a tambourine. Also a nekkid lady flower frog, a couple Mad books and some sequins.

Every year about this time I post that if you are at all crafty or good at growing, you should enter something in the fair. You only have two weeks left to finish your projects! And of course, if you need yarn, thread, fabric, vases, fake flowers, paint brushes and such to finish that project, come check us out! Fair books are available on line at Prowers County Extension office or at the office itself out in the old Vaquero building at the fairgrounds.

If you are into making projects with other people's unfinished projects I have cutter quilts and quilt tops, quilted squares, cotton cloth, other cloth, al at bargain prices. Most of it is vintage from the 70s and 80s. Also does your toddler wear size 2 shoes? So I got some baby shoes at a sale. Summer styles, they look unworn. Dang cute! Size 2 and smaller. Now I thought I was getting doll shoes, so that's on me, but my confusion can be your gain. $2 each pair.

New to the shop, a boatload of fabric from the 60s and 70s. Wonderful patterns and designs in bright colors. Most of it seems to be cotton so quilters might be interested. Also "new," some vintage science fiction and westerns. We will be open on the 4th of July our regular hours, and perhaps in the morning since we will be here for the parade.

Because of the election and Susan being an election judge, we have new hours for this week. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, we will be open 2:30 to 5:00. Friday, regular hours of 1:00 to 5:00. Saturday, we will be open during and after the parade and then our regular hours (unless we get a tour group at the museum). Wishing you all a great 4th of July!

Should you like Star Trek novels, we picked some up. Chris over across from Viaero is selling out someone's collection of really battered westerns, children's books, and science fiction, at his Father's Day sale. Book lovers (and rock lovers) might like to slide on over this morning and check it out, especially if you are going to Walmart anyway..

The election is happening! Please vote. Meanwhile, Susan is an election judge and will have many mornings at the courthouse and annex. We will post a note on the door if we know she will be gone, because it is not every day. Caro's hours at the Museum for the next few months will probably be 11 am to 2 pm so should the county need Susan in the afternoon, we might open as late as 2:15.

First--all the DVDs are gone--a guy came and bought them all--we made him a good deal. Whoot! Next, I am going to start making occasional comments about other businesses in Lamar. Tomorrow, Wednesday, is the grand opening of a little shop on East Elm, I think it is called Mom's. Please go over after after 11 and wish them success.

Summer is when you start working on December projects, right? We have some Christmas themed cloth should you be needing it. We still have wood to paint or rocks if you need to keep the kiddos busy. When we get partly colored coloring books we take out the unused pages and sell them for 5 cents each. We have several hundred to choose from! Also we have a few packs of colored pencils if you need 'em.
