Lamar Book Depot

Need pine comes for your fall and Christmas Decor? I have a bin full, and some of them are eight inches long! Also, this is Tuesday the 29th and the program at the Museum at 7:00 is about a book about agriculture the culture of farming and feeding the state. Definitely something you may want to see! And I have spent all day converting Publisher files because Microsoft suddenly decided that Publisher is gong away October 1. If you use Publisher you might want to change those files into PDF or Word files in the next two days. I am rather annoyed, as I have used that program for over 30 years!

I am considering having a table of stocking stuffers and small less than $10 items at the LCC craft fair. My analysis o the last several years suggested there is a niche for small, cheaper but still cool, items. What would you like to see us offer?
Also, I will have applications for the craft fair available at Book Depot as as of yesterday it was not yet on line. Tables are only $25 but you have to apply in the next three weeks or so. It is Halloween/Nov. 1 this year, so a little earlier than other years.

The holiday season approaches. We have cookie cutters, baking pans,Pyrex and pyrex, Corning ware, and glass bowls. Baking pans. Make a dessert, gift it to someone, and they can keep the pan!
Also, at the auction on Saturday I accidentally got some ancient dolls. A doll collector might want them but actually, they are sort of creepy and cracked and could make a nice addition to a haunted house or Halloween display. Time to get crafty!
I also picked up fancy glassware, crocheted blanket, a wool blanket, some Lamar Polk directories, and a bit of Christmas....

It is kinda Halloween-ish, but we have over 100 true crime books that need a new home--come check them out if that is your sort of thing. Also, we have vintage crochet, crewel and cross-stitch kits--if you start now it will be done by Christmas, right?

Also new to the shop, some cool tiny notebooks with pens. Coloring books for grown-ups, new beads, some Halloween, and even some Christmas came out this week.

If you have a pair of deer horns you would like to display, we are selling (cheaply!) a fake deer head (some minor damage) with sockets in the head where the horns are inserted. I'd not ever seen such a thing. It will need a bit of cleaning as it has been in storage. We were recently asked about Halloween, so I have a small b8in of it out and will have more in a few days. After all, if the pirate ship and the pumpkin towers are up, it must be time!

As you probably know, we take books for store credit. What we take sometimes depends on the space left on the shelf. Currently we are behind on the processing of the books folks have brought in. We are asking folks to not bring books in for about 6 weeks so we can catch up. We would appreciate it greatly!
