I had such a blast at the auction yesterday! There’s nothing like the thrill of hunting for treasures and finding cool vintage pieces. We brought home some amazing stuff, including these classic hats and gorgeous quilt toppers full of history and charm. Huge thanks to my beautiful model, Maddix!

Murray here — look what I dug up in backstock today. It's a Best Maide No. 1 hand-crank grinder, made by the Luther Grinder Mfg. Co. out of Milwaukee. There's something I really love about old tools like this. Long before anyone had a bench grinder plugged into the wall, someone stood right here turning this crank by hand to sharpen the axe or knife they depended on every single day.

I cleaned it up just enough to bring out the "Best Maide" silhouette and the manufacturer's plate so you can see what she is (photo below), but I left the rest alone. There's real patina under all that old grime, and it looks like there may still be shiny black paint hiding under it. I'll let the new owner make that call — polish her back up or leave her exactly as time made her.

This one's about to head to eBay for $125, but for our local Vintage Chaos family, I'd rather just let it go for $105 plus tax — my way of saying thanks for shopping local instead of scrolling past us for a stranger online.

Fall has officially arrived at Vintage Chaos! Our new fall candle scents are here, and they smell amazing. Think warm, cozy, and perfectly fall—just what you need to make your home feel like autumn. And of course, we have been filling the store with fall decor, pumpkins, sunflowers, vintage finds, and all those cozy little touches that make this season so much fun! Come wander through, find a new favorite candle, and bring a little fall coziness home with you!

What a fantastic start to the Lamar Fair!

We had an absolute blast on Day 1, and the good news just kept coming:

Window Display Champions: Both of our backstock window displays on the square took home 1st PLACE! A massive shoutout to Beth and Brad for their incredible talent and hard work.

Our decorator extraordinaire, Addison, sang so beautifully at the church concert!

Fresh Vintage Hauls: I spent time cleaning up some amazing new finds from Saturday's auction, and these will be brought into the shop and ready for new homes.

If you’re out enjoying the fair, come by and say hi! We’ll be over here in the evening. Stop in to cool off, grab a drink, and browse through the lovely mess I affectionately call Vintage Chaos 11 (don't judge my housekeeping skills).

We take our responsibilities as shop owners very seriously, and closing the store is never a decision we make lightly. Today, however, we had to prioritize our family as both our horse and dog were gravely ill. We sadly lost our horse Toby, but Beaux is fighting to get better in Kansas City. They are cherished family members, and we needed to be home with them and support our family during this challenging time. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by today's closure and are grateful for your understanding, thoughts, and kind words. Thank you for being a wonderful part of our small shop family.
