Before the fireworks begin, take a few minutes to help keep your pets safe:
π Keep pets indoors during fireworks.
πͺ Secure all doors, gates, and windows.
π·οΈ Make sure your pet is wearing a collar with current ID tags.
π± Verify that your pet's microchip information is up to date.
πΆ Create a quiet, comfortable space with calming music or white noise.
π Keep BBQ foods, alcohol, chocolate, grapes, onions, and other toxic foods out of reach.
π Never bring pets to fireworks displays.
π Walk dogs early in the day before celebrations begin.
β€οΈ If your pet is anxious, stay with them if possible and provide comfort.
Every year, shelters see an increase in lost pets around the Fourth of July. A few simple precautions can make all the difference.
