Ok, brief serious post.
This festival is put on by volunteers (amazing ones), entertainment helps us out, donations both to the Silent Auction to Auction off, and in bidding on items to raise money to put this festival on. We do this for the Local Food Pantry.
Folks, you know what is happening out there. The need is greater than ever. The pantry has for several months run very short although many in our community step up to fill those last minute needs.
We ask for help once again. Please, bring food as you can. One item, one box, one bag, what can you do?
Many whom this pantry serves are older residents in Ashville that the fixed income just doesn't quite stretch any further.
We all are experiencing the rise in daily need costs. Do not give what you cannot. Feed your own first, always. But if you can see your way clear to help out the food pantry in this small town who serve beyond the town borders to those in need, please do.
Closer to opening, I will publish a list of most needed items for our pantry. Peanut butter, spaghetti sauce (no glass jars please, Viking's aren't delicate, glass breaks), boxed foods, no food is turned away. They cannot give out expired food, but all is welcome.
To those who I have seen, walk in with boxes and loaded down bags, so thankful, to those who have one to give, very thankful. It makes a difference in a lot of lives.
The last several years we have broken previous donation records. I would love to do so again.
Thank you all
