Years before Simon Perkins was the President of The Orvis Company, he spent a decade guiding in Montana. Those years shaped him, and the prairie has called him back ever since.

This fall, Simon drove 2,500 miles to answer it. His beloved English Setter Ulla in tow, reuniting with his former employer Brandon, owner and guide PRO Outfitters Sharptail Lodge in central Montana.

Then, the advent of gale force winds threatened to put it all in jeopardy.

USDA is proposing to fully repeal the Roadless Rule, putting 45 million+ acres of national forest lands at risk. That means more logging, road-building, and mining in places we rely on for clean water, biodiversity, economic vitality, and outdoor access.
