Another down day for gold, silver, and platinum, while palladium gained slightly.
As of the COMEX closes today, gold was down to $4,108.25 and silver declined to $64.60. Platinum and palladium are not yet reported for closes but were latest at $1,686.00 and $1,236, respectively.
There was supposedly good news to support gold's price today. China reported it added 10 tons (321,500 ounces) of gold reserves in May, increasing its purchases. It only added 26.8 tons for the entire year of 2025. Of course, it is almost certain that China actually acquired more gold than that, as they have a history of only reporting acquisitions well afterwards. China didn't report their additions to reserves from 2003 to early 2009 until April 2009.
