FUN STUFF: Sadie Sink - currently of “Spiderman: Brand New Day” fame - made appearances in a few Jean Jean rings this month. I appreciate stylists (like molly dickson !) who incorporate archival clothing and antique jewelry into their repertoire. Taking a century-old ring for a spin on the red carpet feels akin to taking your Grandma to a fun rock concert. Multi-generational stuff is GOOD VIBES. A lot of people ask if the celebs end up buying the jewelry: No, it all comes back to me. But the visibility is fun for the business and - in this case - I got a few “cool mom” points with my kids. 🕷️

Just listed ✨A belcher-style .15 carat old cut diamond solitaire in a svelte setting. The old mine cut diamond perches in a belcher head, with forked prongs extending from the shoulders and two further prongs for good measure. The side gallery appears to be filigreed but a closer look reveals solid gold hand engraved with volutes and decorative flourishes. A handsome and versatile ring, beautiful paired with an eternity band as a wedding set or lovely worn alone.

Just posted ✨An Art Deco dome or “bombe” ring with a .94 carat GIA certified Old Euro diamond center and blue sapphire accents. This style of ring was popular in the 1920s and 1930s, when bigger was better and intricate filigreed cocktail rings were all the rage. This ring has a a beautiful design that hugs the finger. The center diamond is warm-bodied with gorgeous cut proportions and a lively combination of brightness, fire, and sparkle. It is hard to pull your gaze away from this one! Trillion-shaped sapphires alternate with triangular cut-aways in a sunburst pattern around the diamond. Hand-etched details bring add softness and charm, including split-leaf and frond designs. A spectacular choice for an engagement ring or simply the ring of your dreams for any finger, anytime. 💙🤍💙

It is impossible to know who this was made for, but we do know that she was “a fond and affectionate mother,” that she died when she was 56-years-old (born in 1778), and that her family was wealthy enough to commission a remarkable piece of memorial jewelry for her when she died in 1834. This piece would have been in stock at a jewelers with the enamel work - (that pansy!) - already prepared: all the family had to do was customize it or “fashion” it with hairwork and a personal engraving. I love how you can see the engraver’s ledger-lines visible at certain angles in the last photo. 15K. DM for sales.

🌹 I had forgotten about this darling and maybe you had, too? A romantic 18K Georgian miniature multi-tone fob with a flat cut garnet stone. Miniature seal fobs were purely decorative, being too small to seal or serve as a watch chain attachment. This may have been one of a few fobs on a single Georgian split ring, for example. The fob is richly detailed in yellow, rose, and green gold with little rosettes and leaves on the sides and granulated details. The flat cut garnet is original to the piece. This fob is stamped with a left facing ram’s head (can you spot it in the 4th photo?!) French (Paris) hallmark used from 1819-1838 on small gold objects of 18K gold. 🐏 🇫🇷

Just listed ✨A twinkling vintage French Cut diamond eternity ring, ca. 1930s. French cut diamonds are a gorgeous cut, with square shaped tables and triangular corner facets. The effect is a four-pointed star pattern and a lifted almost rose cut look. French cut diamonds were a popular choice for Art Deco jewelry designers because of their geometric proportions. This ring features forty-six French cut diamonds channel set in platinum.

Measurements: Size 7 US, 2.1 mm wide, 1.5 grams

Apryl & Ana: Theirs is a love that extends like a force field to everyone around them. If you have had the pleasure of spending time with them you know what I am talking about. They were married in June and along with their flower crowns and enormous smiles, they each wore a ring from Jean Jean. Apryl’s is from 1929 and Ana’s is from 1876. Knowing that these rings will celebrate their 150th and 100th anniversaries (and beyond!) in such a loving and steadfast marriage makes me so happy. And so with a lot of clapping and jumping up and down (and maybe a little bit of ugly crying), Apryl and Ana — I officially welcome you to the ! ✨💕🏳️‍🌈 Thank you for including Jean Jean in your story.
