This is probably one of my favorite sound checks, cuz it's not exactly a sound check. In this video Michael Pluznick and Matthew Aubeuf along with Flor on duns are playing a couple of drums built in the shop. More specifically Michael is playing the drum in the previous post. 13" Mali, Lenke wood, 24lb. She's just about ready if you need something proper!

Sold. This girl was initially built and then disappeared for 2 years. She finally made it back home, and has received a new skin and some oil. Hand carved in Mali, she has a 13" head at 24lb in Lenke wood. There is a repair on the bowl but she is rock solid. Stainless steel rings, simple silver diamond tack design and some well placed rope for something unique. Keep in mind this is one of the last few drums we'll be selling before we head permanently to the United States of California. Cheers!

Mambi. A 13", 20lb gorgeously grained piece of Lenke from Guinea. Exquisite carving of 4 masks, each distinctly decorated with fire, stain, and tacks. Gold rings, rubber foot, medium thick goat skin. Built here at the Djembe Life workshop with intention. The spirit of this drum is rebellion, dignity, and diversity... Unifying to dispel those that would have us in bo***ge. A statement that we will not be told how to live, or that our ways are savage.
