A couple more beautiful wet tanned Black Bears! Have quite a few left but getting really excited for the 2026 bear season to be less than 1 month away! I won't have the opportunity to hunt for one this year but am stoked to take in 100+ bears before the end of the year! As always, we offer both wet and dry tanning options and accept green or salted hides. Don't forget that we specialize in skull cleaning as well so drop off that bear skull as well!

Another batch of Whitetails ready to be bagged! Should be close to having all the deer capes done before this season starts but only time will tell! We've increased the number of capes we're pushing through at a time to try to help with the backlog, all 5 of our pickle tanks are usually always full of capes. This is a one man operation so thank you for the patience!

Another 6 foot Black Bear wet tanned, cleaned, and ready to be bagged! Had to post this one since it's a nicely colored one! We are getting excited for the upcoming bear season, it is fast approaching!

After a lot of thought, I've decided to discontinue hydro dipping services at Headwaters European Taxidermy & Tannery.

I still have a limited number of skulls in line to be hydro dipped, and I'll continue working through them until my current film inventory is gone. Once I run out of film, I will no longer be accepting or completing hydro dipping orders and skulls will be returned just whitened.

This decision comes down to the reality of running a one-man operation. Between the rising cost of quality materials and the amount of time each dip requires, I'm simply not able to make it a profitable service right now. Rather than continue offering something that isn't sustainable, I need to focus my time and resources on the core services that keep the business moving forward especially with our tanning side of the business growing faster than I would have ever imagined.

The good news is that this isn't necessarily goodbye forever. Once I transition to running the business full-time/main job and bring on a second employee, I plan to revisit offering hydro dipping again.

I truly appreciate everyone who has trusted me with their projects and supported this service over the years. Thank you for your understanding and continued support of my business!

Size difference between a Whitetail Deer cape and an Elk cape! This deer had a 22" neck as well!

Another buffalo skull ready for pick-up! We have had quite a few buffalo skulls dropped off this spring/summer already. We are excited to get them looking right! This one had the horns cut off prior to drop-off.
