Instead of asking, “Should I buy this?” I’ve started asking a different question, “What story am I bringing home?”

After two decades in retail, I’ve realized we rarely purchase products. We purchase memories, identity, hope, and connection. Every purchase tells a story, but is it the story you want to tell?

The goal isn’t to judge our choices. It’s simply to become more aware because awareness is where intentionality begins.

One of the greatest privileges of what I do is stepping outside my own world and into the incredible work happening throughout our community.

This week, I had the honor of serving as a judge for CORE’s Jingle in July Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest and let’s just say, the competition was fierce! 🎄😂

While the sweaters brought the laughs, what stood out most was seeing a room full of people coming together to support an organization that’s creating opportunities and investing in the future of our community.

It’s a reminder that making a difference doesn’t always look the way we expect. Sometimes it looks like volunteering your time. Sometimes it looks like showing up. And sometimes… it looks like judging ugly Christmas sweaters in the middle of July. ❤️

Thank you to CORE Powered by the Rogers Foundation for the invitation and for the work you do to strengthen our community. I’m grateful to have been a small part of such a fun evening.

Retail taught me a lot about shopping. But it taught me even more about people. I spent years analyzing consumer behavior to maximize corporate profits. I can tell you firsthand that the checkout aisle is carefully designed to reduce friction and increase impulse purchases.

The more exhausted we are, the more likely we are to make decisions we never intended to make.

I’ve started wondering...

How often do we do the same thing in life? How often do we respond before reflecting? React before thinking? Say yes before checking whether it aligns with our values?

Sometimes the most intentional thing we can do...is pause.

Congratulations to Lighthouse Charities on such a beautiful and meaningful event last night! Sips and Sunsets at Rose Creek Farm was a night we won’t forget.

Hearing the stories of the refugees they support was incredibly moving. Stories of resilience, courage, and new beginnings… but what stood out most was the way this organization shows up for people. Not just with resources but with heart, dignity, and deep, intentional care and love.

Earlier this week, I had the honor of attending the Awards, a celebration of the leaders, allies, and advocates who help make Nevada a kinder, safer, and more equitable place for everyone.
