This atrium is seriously impressive. The massive chandelier, mirrored ceiling, sweeping staircases and all those layers of light make the whole space feel much bigger in person.

And yesโ€ฆ that chandelier is basically TWO FLOORS high. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Definitely one of those places where you stop, look up and think: โ€œOkayโ€ฆ this is pretty damn cool.โ€

MSC certainly didnโ€™t hold back on the bling bling. ๐Ÿ˜‚โœจ

This is how you create a party atmosphere on a cruise ship.

The music is upbeat, the entertainment team brings serious energy, and most importantlyโ€ฆ they actually get the crowd involved! People are dancing, laughing, participating and having fun together.

Iโ€™ve noticed it again and again on this cruise. MSC knows how to turn the main pool deck into an EVENT rather than simply playing music in the background.

Itโ€™s loud. Itโ€™s energetic. Itโ€™s a little crazy. ๐Ÿ˜‚ And judging by the crowd in this videoโ€ฆ it works!

For daytime pool entertainment, MSC World America is seriously impressing me. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ”ฅ

DAY 2 โ€” Letโ€™s talk FOOD on MSC. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿšข

Before sailing MSC for the first time, I was warned. And I mean WARNED. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Over the years, Iโ€™ve heard so many negative comments about MSCโ€™s food, especially from North American cruisers. Iโ€™ve even met people during my travels who had sailed MSC and were really, really unhappy with the quality of the food. Honestly, it was one of the main reasons I waited this long to try MSC.

Wellโ€ฆ so far, Iโ€™m not seeing it.

Itโ€™s only Day 2, so obviously this is just a first impression, but the food has actually been very good. I would put what Iโ€™ve experienced so far roughly on the same level as Voyager of the Seas. The buffet has also been surprisingly good, with plenty of choices.

These photos are from the Main Dining Room. Presentation was nice, portions were good, and overall I enjoyed the meal.

My one BIG complaint? SALT. ๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿง‚๐Ÿง‚

Holy moly. ๐Ÿ˜‚ The food in the Main Dining Room was way, way, WAY too salty. And Iโ€™m someone who likes seasoning! Tone that down and I really donโ€™t have much to complain about so far.

Soโ€ฆ where is this terrible MSC food everyone warned me about? ๐Ÿ˜†

Maybe itโ€™s coming. Maybe things have improved. Or maybe food is simply one of those incredibly subjective parts of cruising.

So far, though? Pleasantly surprised.

This is basically where the action happens. Music, dancing, games, entertainmentโ€ฆ it has a real party atmosphere without needing to wait until nighttime.

There are plenty of activities throughout the ship, but when it comes to the pool deck, MSC owns this territory.

Personally, I couldnโ€™t sit here all day. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Itโ€™s a little too loud and busy for me, so youโ€™ll usually find me relaxing at the quieter adult area at the back of the ship. But I come here every now and then for the music, the atmosphere and, of courseโ€ฆ some quality people-watching. ๐Ÿ˜‚

And before anyone says, โ€œWhere is everybody?โ€ โ€” we just arrived in Puerto Plata, so everyone is getting ready to head ashore. Give this pool deck a little timeโ€ฆ it wonโ€™t look like this for long. ๐Ÿ˜‚

A night full of colours! ๐ŸŒˆโœจ

One thing thatโ€™s really surprising me about the nightlife on MSC World America is how much people actually show upโ€ฆ and stay! ๐Ÿ˜‚

After dinner, the ship really comes alive. Live bands, singers, performances, Dueling Pianos, DJsโ€ฆ thereโ€™s something happening in multiple venues, and even later at night, many of them are still packed.

And I love the variety. You can start with something classy and relaxed with live music, move to a completely different atmosphere for a show, then finish the night somewhere with a much bigger party vibe.

The whole ship also transforms after darkโ€”the lighting, the colours, the Promenadeโ€ฆ everything feels completely different from daytime. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿฉท

So far, MSC definitely knows how to keep the ship awake after dinner. And apparently, so do the passengers. ๐Ÿ˜‚

The night doesnโ€™t end after dinner hereโ€ฆ itโ€™s when round two begins. ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿฅ‚
