Planting Adzuki Beans, and Our Noodle Beans, Suyo Long Cucumbers, and Asian Giant Melons Have Fruit!

Today, we got Adzuki Beans planted out in the Asian Garden. At this point, I'm leaving the self seeding noodle bean for the rats in hopes they'll leave the rest of my garden alone. We have some pollinated Asian Giant Melons as well as Noodle Beans. There are a couple of female Suyo Long Cucumbers on the vine, but we'll have to wait a few days to see if they got pollinated.🤞💚

Garden VLOG - Tuesday September 15, 2026

I got a lot done in the short amount of time I had to work in the yard. We top dressed the okra, replanted some Atomic Orange Corn, trimmed up a Peach tree, Aswad Eggplant, Jahhardale Pumpkin, and Sugar Rush Peach pepper, and staked up the Patty Pan Squash.💚

Another All-Nighter: We Are Ready To Plant Our Fall Sweet Corn In The Big Bed

It stayed nice out until about 5 in the morning, so I took advantage. I finally got the Country Gentlemen Sweet Corn patch set up. We will get that planted out on Monday along with our Adzuki beans. I will try and get the grow bags in the Asian Garden set up as well.

I'm grateful for our long growing season, but this is the latest I've ever planted my corn. I'm considering switching to Atomic Orange corn which matures faster. We will see what we end up planting, tomorrow.💚

Planted: 160 Henderson Lima Beans, 20 Kenearly Yellow Eye Bush Beans, and 20 Cannellini Beans

I will be planting the beans in the Asian Garden and the Country Gentlemen Sweet Corn tomorrow, as in Friday.

We did 10 rows of 20, with 8 rows being dedicated to Henderson Lima Beans. I like Lima Beans, but I love butter beans. Especially paired with Ritz crusted pork chops.🤤

All of these will be harvested as dry beans, so this is a set it and forget it for me, other than checking regularly for pests and damage.

Tomorrow, we will finish mixing in the Garden Soil, setting up the last of the irrigation in the big bed, and planting out the last bit of it. We will also top off the grow bags in the Asian Garden, check their irrigation, and plant out our Soy Beans, Edamame, Adzuki Beans, and our Japonica Striped corn.💚
