The Yamaha YUS5 sits at the top of the YUS Series, bringing some distinctly grand-piano-inspired features to a 52" upright.

Yamaha builds the YUS5 in Japan with a solid spruce soundboard, hand-wound European bass strings, concert-quality hammer felt, and a true sostenuto pedal. Its carefully balanced action also gives pianists plenty of control for more advanced playing.

For someone who wants the footprint of an upright without sacrificing expressive possibilities, the YUS5 is worth playing.

Yamaha Artist Blkbok recently debuted A Nation Becoming: The Democracy Concerto, co-written with cellist and composer Kendall Ramseur. The project, comprising three movements for full orchestra and a 50-member choir, brings together influences from classical music, jazz, gospel, and soul.

Over the last couple of months, we’ve had the joy of watching BLKBOK rehearse in our showroom, so we’re excited to see all that work make its way to the stage. Check out this video to hear BLKBOK and Ramseur share the ideas and inspiration behind the project.

Have you ever wondered why a piano has 88 keys?

It wasn’t always that way. Early pianos had a much smaller range, and the keyboard gradually expanded as composers began writing music that demanded more from the instrument. See how we arrived at the 88 keys we have today.

A standard piano has 88 keys: 52 white and 36 black. But who decided this number would be the norm, and why?

The final days of our Warehouse Closing Sale are here, and we still have new and pre-owned pianos that need to find a home.

Our warehouse is closing, and we have more pianos than we can comfortably accommodate in our expanded showroom, which means you can still save.

Many are one-of-a-kind instruments, so once they’re sold, they’re gone.

Stop by to play and compare your options before the sale ends. Ask about available trade-ins and financing while you’re here.

The Bösendorfer 185VC brings the Vienna Concert series into a 6'1" grand.

The 185VC is designed to deliver impressive dynamic range, tonal color, and projection without requiring the space of a larger concert instrument. Bösendorfer’s Resonance Case Principle also allows more of the spruce body to contribute to the sound, giving pianists plenty to explore across the keyboard.

It’s a compelling option for a home, teaching studio, or smaller performance space.
