Summer art project complete! This is for a local wetland art contest. -Mo
For this art call I wanted to focus on Nevada wetland creatures that are often overlooked. I did some research and twilight is the one time when all four of my subjects could realistically be active in the same wetland ecosystem. In my composition, the Hawkmoth/White-lined Sphinx hovers near the Sacred Datura flower and the Hoary Bat is flying in the sky starting it’s evening insect hunt. The Western Screech Owl is perched and searching for prey emerging at dusk . The Black-crowned Night Heron is also on the search for food.
