Here with a Noteworthy Book Highlight!

This is 'Stories from the Shahnameh of Ferdowsi: The Persian Book of Kings,' a three-volume set which contains tales from the Shahnameh, the national epic of Iran composed by the poet Ferdowsi between 980 and 1010 CE. It tells the story of ancient Persia, beginning in the mythic time of Creation and continuing forward to the Arab-Islamic invasion in the seventh century. Brilliantly translated into prose and verse (in the naqqali tradition) by the poet and Ferdowsi scholar Dick Davis and magnificently illustrated with miniatures from the greatest Shahnameh manuscripts of the 14th to 17th centuries (in museums and private collections around the world), these volumes give English-language readers access to a world of vanished wonders.

We're getting ready for a special signing event and car show with members of the British Auto Club of Las Vegas! Join us Saturday, October 10th from 1-4pm as we welcome Bernard Clark, Jerry R. Hale, Denie Hiestand, and Dr. Shelley.

Read on to learn a little more about them and their books!

Bernard F. Clark (Bernie) is a retired systems consultant specializing in the design and coaching of software development methods. By Spirit, he has always been a traveler, photographer, artist, storyteller and poet. Born in 1958 in Hertfordshire, England, it wasn’t until he moved to America in 1983 that he found his creative voice.

Jerry R. Hale is a native of Halifax County, North Carolina and a 1966 graduate of Enfield High School. He is retired and currently lives in Boulder City, Nevada. Jerry’s interest in fiction writing and British sports cars began during high school. His daily driver during high school was a white 1961 MGA. Following his retirement from the Army, Jerry had a successful second career as a business owner and real estate investor. Now retired he once again devotes his time to his British sports cars and to writing Southern Gothic style fiction.

Denie Hiestand is originally from New Zealand, now retired and living in Las Vegas. Known as the “Crocodile Dundee” of metaphysics and “Body Electrician,” instead of working on people and their health issues, now he builds and races vintage race cars. Having lectured all over the world about natural health, recently he has had to utilize all that he knows and continues to learn to “Cure” himself of cancer and rheumatoid arthritis. In his late 70’s and full of health, he shares his story…

Dr. Shelley completed her PhD in 2013, she specializes in Human S*xuality. Her PhD focused on the Anti-Aging & Health Benefits of S*x, and she encourages people to have more and better s*x. Her work and books look at how to make relationships more exciting and pleasurable. She has taught workshops and seminars around the world with Denie Hiestand for more than 30 years. Originally from New Zealand she now lives in Las Vegas.
