Starting is common. Sticking with it is the hard part.
As we recently celebrated 18 years at My Fitness Kitchen, receiving a handwritten card like this from a long-term client was incredibly humbling.
After nearly 40 years in this industry, I've watched countless people begin exercise programs with the best intentions.
I've also seen one of the greatest challenges in health and fitness:
Continuity.
People start. Life happens. Motivation changes. Schedules get busy. Results don't come as quickly as expected. And something that began with enthusiasm gradually disappears.
As an exercise physiologist, I can explain the science behind exercise, nutrition, recovery and healthy aging. But none of it produces much of a return if we can't help someone stay engaged long enough to benefit from it.
That's why Theresa's card means so much.
She wrote about more than exercise. She talked about feeling supported, challenged and encouraged. The people. The environment. The relationships. And most importantly, continuing to show up.
After 18 years, we're still learning, evolving and working to get better. But I'm incredibly proud of how many clients have trusted us with their health year after year after year.
Coaching matters. Science matters. But connection matters too.
That's why one of our core values is CONNECT²—connecting with our clients while helping our clients connect with one another.
Maybe the “secret” isn't continually finding another program to start.
Maybe it's finding the right environment, people and approach so you don't have to keep starting over.
Ironically, that's exactly why everyone at MFK starts with a Strategy Session—not a membership. Before committing to anything, we want you to experience our environment, meet our coaches, see how we work, and determine whether you feel comfortable here.
Because finding the right fit can be an important part of actually sticking with it.
Theresa, thank you for the card, your kind words, and for allowing us to be part of your journey. 💙🧡
Move Well. Eat Well. Live Well.
