🎓 Heading Back to College? Your Dorm Doesn't Have to Look Like Everyone Else's.

Dorm shopping doesn't have to mean buying everything brand new from a big-box store.

Sometimes the best pieces are the ones with a little character. ❤️

If you're heading off to one of our local colleges this fall, stop by and take a look before you finish your dorm shopping!

We've got pieces that can add function + personality to a small space:

🧺 Baskets for blankets, towels, laundry or extra storage
🪞 Mirrors to make a small room feel bigger
💡 Lamps and lighting to give that dorm room a little more personality
📚 Trays and small tables for organizing everyday essentials
🧺 Vintage linens and textiles for adding color and texture
💍 Jewelry and accessories to make the space feel like you
🌿 Decorative pieces that turn a plain room into a cozy space

And here's the best part...

You don't have to spend a fortune to make a dorm feel like home.

Whether your style is vintage, boho, cottage, colorful, traditional or somewhere in between, you might find that one unexpected piece that makes the whole room come together.

We're in a small town, and we know shopping options can be limited—especially when you're trying to find something that's different from what everyone else has.

So before you make that last big-box-store run...

Come see what you can find locally. 😉

Because college may be temporary, but your style doesn't have to be.

📍 Come browse Sisters Sass & Salvage or Antiques, Quilts and Mountain Creations and see what catches your eye!

👯 TWO SISTERS • THREE BOOTHS

This is pretty much how buying inventory works when there are two sisters and three booths. 😂

Denise stops at a pop-up shop.

📸 Picture… picture… picture…

My phone starts blowing up:

Denise: “What about this?”
Me: “Maybe…”
Denise: “This?”
Me: “YES.”
Denise: “What about this one?”
Me: “How much?” 😂

And before long we’re analyzing crocks, pottery, old kitchen pieces, wooden bowls, advertising tins, furniture and pretty much anything else that catches our eye.

But then she sends me that little green shelf.

Me: “BUY IT.” 😂

And can we please talk about that giant chicken?! 🐔 Because apparently these are the kinds of very important business decisions we have to make.

The funny part is, we’re usually asking ourselves the same three questions:

Which booth would it go in?
What would we put with it?
And most importantly… can we make any money on it? 😂

That’s the not-so-glamorous part of vintage reselling that you don’t always see. Sometimes the treasure hunt happens together…and sometimes one sister shops while the other one shops by text message.

Now YOU get to help us.

👇 Look through the pictures and tell us: What would YOU have told Denise to buy?

And if you say the giant chicken, we’re probably going to be friends. 😂

Two Sisters. Three Booths. One shared love of old stuff…and entirely too many opinions. ❤️

✨ WHAT IF? Wednesday

What if you found this vintage-style Paris street scene while out treasure hunting? 🇫🇷

Would you walk right past it… or immediately start picturing where it could go in your home?

We think this one could be fun because it can go in completely different directions.

🏡 What if you styled it…

A. On a gallery wall mixed with vintage frames and collected art
B. In a cozy reading nook with old books and a little lamp
C. In a kitchen or dining area for a little French café feel
D. Completely differently — tell us what you would do!

And here’s the question Denise and I are always asking each other…

Would you leave the frame exactly as it is, or change it?

👇 A, B, C or D? And KEEP or CHANGE the frame?

This is exactly the kind of thing we love about vintage. Sometimes you just have to look at something and ask…

WHAT IF? ❤️

✨ A LITTLE BOOTH REFRESH + NEW TREASURES! ✨

Another week means another round of finds making their way into the Sisters Sass & Salvage booths! ❤️

We’ve added some new pieces this week, along with a few recently added treasures you may have missed. And as usual… there’s a little bit of everything!

Vintage artwork, one-of-a-kind furniture, baskets, linens, jewelry, pottery, garden-inspired décor and, of course, those wonderfully quirky pieces that make you stop and take a second look. 😍

A few favorites to look for as you scroll:
🪿 That fabulous wooden goose
🦩 A very sassy coconut flamingo
🌊 A hand-painted coastal drop-leaf table
🖼️ A beautiful framed Paris street scene
💎 Vintage jewelry & accessories
🏡 Vintage dishes, décor & unique finds tucked throughout

One of our favorite things about vintage is that our booths are NEVER exactly the same from one week to the next. We find it, we bring it in…and sometimes it finds a new home before we even get a chance to show you!

👀 Now we want to know…

Which piece would YOU take home?

🤔 WHAT IF…?

What if this wasn’t just wall art…

…what if it was made for someone you know? 💙🐈

The Alice in Wonderland fan.

The book lover.

The quirky friend who says, “Normal is overrated.”

The teenager who wants something different than everyone else.

The teacher, librarian, or artist who’d smile every time they walked past it.

Or maybe…

What if YOU are the one who’s a little mad? 😉

“We’re all mad here.” — The Cheshire Cat

That’s the fun of vintage and one-of-a-kind finds. Sometimes a piece doesn’t match everyone…

It finds its person.

👇 Tell us…
Who would you buy this for?
(Or would you secretly keep it for yourself? 😄) Available now in our Sisters Sass & Salvage booth.

🍂 Window Watch: Pilot Mountain Edition

One of the things we love most about this business is that every display starts with a question…

“Does this look right?”

Living in different states would make it hard for some sisters to decorate together.

Not us.

This week Denise sent me pictures from Antique Quilts & Mountain Creations in Pilot Mountain, NC.

First came the furniture.

Then came the artwork.

Then the sunflowers.

Then came the texts…

“Too much?”

“Should I move the table?”

“What do you think now?”

That’s pretty much how every display comes together. 😂

A few photos, a few opinions, a little sisterly debate…

…and eventually, we land on something we both love.

We think this cozy little sitting area is ready for fall.

What would YOU have done?

🍂 Left the first arrangement?
🌻 Or do you like where it ended up?

Tell us in the comments!

❤️ Meet Denise – The Vintage Charm Behind Sisters Sass & Salvage

If you’ve followed us for a while, you’ve probably heard me mention my sister, Denise. Today I thought it was time you officially met the other half of Sisters Sass & Salvage.

Denise is 14 years older than me and has always been the calm to my chaos. She’s retired after a career in childcare, traveled all over the country with her husband during his military career, and now calls the beautiful mountains of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina home.

When retirement came, she didn’t slow down—she opened her own booth, Antique Quilts & Mountain Creations, inside Mount Pilot Antiques. What started as her booth eventually grew into all three of ours: her booth in North Carolina and our two booths here in South Carolina.

Every treasure we find starts with the same conversation…

“Which booth should this go in?”

Some decisions take five seconds.

Others… well… let’s just say we’ve had some pretty entertaining debates. 😂

If you know Denise, you know she’s famous for one thing…

If she’s wearing a red shirt, she’s wearing red tennis shoes.
Blue shirt? Blue shoes.
Green shirt? Yep… green shoes.

I tease her all the time that she owns a pair of tennis shoes for every outfit, and honestly… I think it’s true! ❤️

Her style is just as recognizable as her wardrobe.

Denise loves two-toned furniture with rich stained wood paired with soft painted finishes. She believes every piece should keep a little of its history, which is why you’ll rarely see her paint over beautiful wood. Her favorite flips almost always combine warm natural wood with creamy whites, soft blues, soft greens or other timeless colors.

She has an incredible eye for creating spaces that feel warm, welcoming, and collected over time.

Her first love has always been vintage quilts and pillows, and they’re still her favorite things to hunt for. Lately, though, she’s been stepping outside her comfort zone by adding more vintage smalls and learning furniture flipping one piece at a time.

She’s generous with her time, quick to help anyone who needs it, easygoing, and one of those people who truly doesn’t take life too seriously.

As for me… I’m usually the one saying, “What if we went bold and painted it?” 😄

Together, somehow, it works.

She brings the vintage charm.
I bring a little sass.

And somewhere between North Carolina and South Carolina, three booths, countless phone calls, and a whole lot of laughter, we’ve built something pretty special.

❤️ Thanks for following along with our journey. We love sharing it with all of you, and we’re so glad you’re here.
