HERE’S SOMETHING WE’VE LEARNED ABOUT HAVING A VINTAGE BOOTH…

Don’t be afraid of the weird stuff. 😂

Some of the pieces we bring into the booth aren’t everyone’s cup of tea.

And that’s okay.

Because sometimes the thing that makes you stop and say…

“WHAT in the world is THAT?!”

…is exactly what someone else has been looking for.

We’ve learned that unusual pieces can:

👀 Stop someone in their tracks
💬 Start a conversation
🏡 Become the unexpected focal point in someone’s home
❤️ And sometimes become the piece they absolutely HAD to have

That’s one of the things we love about vintage.

It doesn’t all have to match.

It just has to have a little personality.

And believe me…we have some personality in our booths. 😂

ONE OF OUR FAVORITE BOOTH TRICKS: GROUP IT! 👀

Have you ever had a piece that just didn’t seem to get noticed?

Before we mark it down, we often try something else:

Put it with its people. 😂

A single bird might not catch someone’s eye.

But put several birds together and suddenly you’ve created a little collection.

Same with:

🐔 Chickens
🐦 Birds
🧺 Baskets
🏮 Lighthouses
🍂 Seasonal decor
🍽️ Dishes

People aren’t always shopping for a specific item.

Sometimes they’re shopping for a look, a collection, or a feeling.

And grouping similar things together can make it much easier for them to see the possibilities.

🍂 WHAT DO WE DO WHEN SOMETHING ISN’T SELLING? 🤔

After having booths for a while, we’ve learned something:

The answer isn’t always “put it on sale.” 😂

Sometimes the piece just needs a little help.

Here are a few things we try:

1️⃣ MOVE IT.

Sometimes it’s not the item — it’s the location.

We might move something from a shelf to a table, put it at eye level, or give it a completely different spot in the booth.

2️⃣ CHANGE WHAT’S AROUND IT.

Sometimes a piece just needs the right “neighbors.” 😂

A basket, a lamp, some greenery, books or another vintage piece can completely change how something looks.

3️⃣ GROUP IT WITH SIMILAR THINGS.

One lighthouse might get overlooked.

A whole little lighthouse collection?

👀 Now you’ve created a display.

The same thing can work with dishes, baskets, pottery, linens, seasonal pieces…almost anything.

4️⃣ LOOK AT IT DIFFERENTLY.

This is where Paula gets herself in trouble. 😂

Sometimes we have to stop asking:

“What IS this?”

And start asking:

“What COULD this be?”

That’s when the fun begins.

And sometimes…

we just have to accept that it’s waiting for the right person. ❤️

We’ve definitely had pieces sit for a while and then suddenly disappear from the booth.
